I have heard only good things about Blake‘s novels so I started with her debut and I can‘t wait to dive into the rest of her work!

A cute love story with family drama and a sometimes emotional story line that I flew through once I got into it. I love a good contemporary and Sam and Hadley made for the perfect combination. There was real drama involved, bullying, anxiety, a sister with severe asthma, and a main male character who wasn't gross to read. Was it perfect? No, but it made me laugh and cry and I can't ask for anything else in a YA romance.

"I guess the world really does end with a whimper," he says after a moment. "A whole lot of quiet, a million things left unsaid until it's too late to say them."

"The experience doesn't end when you finish a story," Ajay says. The lilting tone to his voice that is gotten used to over the past couple of hours vanishes and turns serious. "The physical book is like a memento. Plus, I'm a collector."

LOVED THIS! Excellent tension and emotion. Ugh, it was just so good. Just read it.

I seriously hate it when a book just ends. I'm taking it upon myself to write an epilogue.

Both families go to the photography show and it's awkward but healing is starting and Hadley and Sam can be together despite all the family drama. This is called closure. The End.

A Harry Potter quote comes to mind ~ "So you're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it." UGH!

Suffer Love is perfectly readable, if somewhat lackluster. The central mystery is easy to figure out, so you just find yourself screaming at Sam to tell her already through most of the novel. Tho I do appreciate a good YA where the characters can have sex without becoming pregnant or dying (or facing incredible amounts of sex-shamey judgement; looking at you, Kat). 🐈 #ya #yalit

I see a book I want to buy it: if I've read about or if it's unknown. We were walking through B&N, the third time in a few days, and I reassured my husband with: don't worry, I won't buy anything...I forgot what I just bought. Just came off of a bummer (it shall not be named) read, and picked up Suffer Love which was a pleasant surprise. Built loosely on a frame of several Shakespeare's plays, two teens find safety and stability with each other while dealing with their shared experience of cheating parents. Until it comes out that Hadley's dad cheated with Sam's mom. Now my husband is enjoying it too. ☺️😀
