A gothic, epic tale that caught me off guard. My favorite genre started as historical fictional then some rom-com and is morphing into fantasy magic. Cozy and grim, I could picture and feel everything as if I were there with Opal. Book #88 in 2023

Book #88
4.5/5
This audiobook was on my library holds list since it's release. When it became available to me a few weeks ago, so soon after his death, I jumped at the chance to borrow it. I don't know what else to say, other than to say that this memoir was very insightful and entertaining, and I would recommend it to any Chandler fan. ;)

Got a 3 pack of Archie comics in my stocking so with the enthusiasm afforded them in my youth I read them immediately. #87-2022, #88-2022, #89-2022

Finished this audiobook this morning. I enjoyed it as it went along. There were amusing things happening…lalala…then there was the wrap-up. It wasn‘t the end, but close to the end, and it was hilarious. So glad I listened to this one. #88 #BookSpin #BFC22

This was my favorite of all the books I read for #MermaidMarathonReads Readathon. The family love was heartwarming. The lengths that one sister would go to save the other is wonderfully portrayed. The story was just really good. I‘m looking forward to reading more mermaid/pirate/ocean books next year! #100YEARS100BOOKS #88 #BookSpinBingo #11 #TALESandTAILSforADULTS #15 #YABOOKS #BFC21 #2

The darker YA-style tone along with the shifting third-person perspective from each character worked really well. I'm thinking there are probably a lot of plot complexities and mysteries to figure out in the following books in the series. These are definitely a notch up in maturity level from the OG Percy Jackson series.

(quarantine book #88; read a book with talking animals)
