Honestly this book is a bit up and down for me so far, chapters start on the low energy for me then build as I try to figure out how they die...I think I may have a feeling about Klara‘s death, let‘s see if I‘m right and if I can get to it before I have to clean up before work @24in48 #24in48

My under the radar book for hour 30 of @24in48 I read this years ago and while I definitely read a lot of dark twisted stuff as a teen this is one of the books that stuck with me! The only other person I know who has read it is the friend that passed it down to me. It‘s about a girl who is blamed for her friend‘s suicide and it covers the toxicity but also the strength of teenage friendships so well! #24in48

On to my second planned book (and 2nd print since I‘m also audiobooking) for #24in48 and I‘m at the halfway point 🙌🏼 my personal goal was to at least do 12 hours since last time I barely made it to about 9 hours if I remember correctly. Trying to get another half hour in of this book while I snack (cuz I‘m getting hungry) but also my neck is starting to hurt and I‘m getting sleepy so we shall see @24in48

I didn‘t expect to love this book as much as I did. It made me want to go back to that time my bf and me spent flirting before we started dating and even back to college lol! Plus it got me out of this funk this summer heat had gotten me in and made me wish for colder nights when you just stay in your room under cozy sheets :) Also enjoyed the deeper themes of complicated family matters within the lighter fanfic scenes @24in48 #24in48 1st book ✅

So after years of having this on my TBR (my English teacher went with another book), I finally checked it off my list as I really loved it. While I admit most of the characters are horrible people, I do feel Nick and Jordan were still good people. Also it was nice to read about the glamorous Gatsby parties

I've been meaning to read more plays lately and decided to start with the bard himself. Went with Macbeth and I really enjoyed it. My favorite parts included the witches and it made me look forward to reading more of his work. The Graphic Novel version was also very well adapted.

It took me a bit to get into this book, but in the end I really enjoyed it. I liked how Whitehead created a real life Underground Railroad and I enjoyed Cora as a character. It was a quick read and gave a glimpse at the hardships slaves had to endure and the dangers they had to face, even in Abolitionist states. My only complaint is that it lacked character development and I was thrown off by characters who were mentioned but not explained.

My first reread in a while (also I think it's only my second reread I've ever done, not counting picture books) and I loved it just as much as I did when I first read it in first grade. Mrs. L'Engle did such a great job creating a fantasy world and painting it with such a science (pun intended) that really draw you in. Recommend to everyone that they read it and share with the kids in their lives! So much love can't wait for the new movie!

Despite being a bit hard to follow at times since the author/artist will sometimes jump to her next vignette without quite finishing the previous one, you still understand the overall journey of her realizing she was a lesbian. More importantly you get to see her experience being Turkish while growing up in Germany and having to learn how to navigate both cultures and a homosexual woman. She's also pretty funny!

My bf's mom let me borrow one of her #BOTM choices from a few months ago. I actually liked this book until I got to the end. It seems all three friends, whose chapter's alternate, are dealing with some sort of mental illness or some sort of codependency. Rachel is the only kinda decent one of her friends, Ellie is an insecure bitch and Chloe is a mix of mean and nice. I just wasn't too fond of how the book dealt with their issues & it ended weird.

This is such an important and moving read given our country's current status. Diane's story is one of many children whose immigrant parents are taken from them and their families broken! Her voice is genuine and she helps to educate about immigration policy status.

Got my BF's Mom a #botm subscription during Christmas and this was the first book she got to choose. She enjoyed it so she let me borrow it. Taking advantage that my car is being serviced to enjoy this nice day and read outside at a nearby cafe

These are my current reads at the moment. Out of the three, Kindred is my favorite so far though I am liking the other two. Need to finish Kindred though cuz it's overdue (oops🙊)

Finished this last night and really enjoyed it. I have read her other book, My Husband's Secret, which I wasn't as much a fan of so I had put reading this one off for a bit. I'm glad the show pushed me to actually read it because it was highly entertaining.

I love how she is able to tell the story through multiple characters and really had us guessing as to what occurred at the party. I kept guessing who might be dead. Good quick read!

Barely made it to 24 hours but I did it!! I finished 1 print and 1 audiobook and am halfway through another print and audiobook. So happy I did this challenge as I'm trying to read more this year. Gonna take a break from the intensity but will probably read a bit more before bed #24in48

Finished listening to this audiobook just before hitting 18 hours. While I don't fully agree with Gay's views and ideas I did relate to the majority of what she said. It is wonderfully written and it was nice to know I'm not the only one who has struggled with identifying as a feminist due to misconceptions created by the media and society but now I know I must continue my feminist education! #diversathon #24in48readathon

"Change requires intent and effort." Decided to start this for my second book for #24in48readathon in support of today's #WomensMarch! Listening to it on Audiobook and almost 4 hours into the readathon. Really enjoying Roxane Gay's voice and identifying so much with what she is saying ??????????

I cannot recommend this book enough!! It took me a few pages to get into it but I soon fell in love with it. Love all the geeky references as well as how much of the 80s it pays tribute too. Plus it reminded me of my bf the whole time ❤️!! Also glad to have it be the book I started off the #24in48readathon with. 2:35 hours down. Had forgotten to stopwatch it but thank god for Bookout

Really enjoyed this book especially after reading so many dark thrillers. It was great to see how romance occurs in both young love and long marriages and how complex love really is. This novel said so much while still feeling light.

I'm a big sucker for Swedish Thriller and I definitively enjoyed this one. However, the material is disturbing. The writing was pretty good but I think the translation of it could have been better. Also sometimes it felt like the writers were trying to make an earlier part of the story fit and you could tell. Would still recommend if you want a dark thriller

I'd give this a 3 out 5 stars. While I enjoyed it as a quick fun read, for a mystery thriller it was quite predictable, the writing was good but not great and the characters felt underdeveloped. Still it's good if you want a quick Sunday read.
