I just removed all Rowling's books from my Goodreads TBR, and I won't be purchasing any of her books for my 12 yr old, who lost interest anyway between the first two books. If he wants to read them, there's the school library. They won't be anymore brought into my house.

Can anyone recommend a trans author? I'm open.

SleepyDragon I am aware that no action I take affects her. She's more or less untouchable. It doesn't matter. I simply do not want her in my house. Her tweets endanger lives that already live in constant fear. Her audience is huge, and she is doing a lot of damage. I just can't condone it. 4y

Chrissyreadit I‘m curious about what is the underlying function or fear in these beliefs? I have a hard time finding the information. Personally I believe all marginalized groups must be allies - especially as all seem to face the same oppressor(s). 4y

xicanti Vivek Shraya is maybe my favourite trans author. She writes fiction, poetry, and criticism. Yoon Ha Lee‘s SF has style to spare, though to be honest I sometimes have no clue what‘s going on with the plot. (The rest of the package is so good this doesn‘t matter.) Anna Zabo‘s Twisted Wishes romances are top notch, if you‘re in the mood for rock stars and BDSM. 4y

SpiderCrafts I recommend the YA novel, If I Was Your Girl - I hoped J K Rowling could learn something from this 😒 but she seems clear on a view against Trans people being allowed to pass / be their gender, without bringing up the pressures, and harmful attitudes, to reveal their personal details of being transgender.

Megabooks @KatieDid927 it‘s the best memoir by someone under 30 that I‘ve read this decade, easily! His writing has a maturity beyond 27 years, but he doesn‘t lose what makes being young and queer unique with his generation. 5y
