I wasn‘t sure if I‘d make it this year but I completed the #LitsyAtoZ reading challenge yesterday! I read some amazing books this year for #LitsyAtoZ2020, pushing myself to read outside my usual genres and formats. In the process I discovered some new-to-me writers & embraced audiobooks. Thank you @BookishMarginalia for hosting this challenge! I look forward to participating again in 2021 😊

And with that, I have completed my #LitsyAtoZ challenge for 2020 all nonfiction and all female authors (although I stretched a bit for the X & Z). Phew! I definitely made that harder than I needed too this year, apparently I was feeling really ambitious when 2020 began before it went sideways on us. 😂.

I can‘t even find my link to update these officially🤪. So enjoy them here

Scochrane26 That‘s impressive 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Scochrane26 😂 Yes, going into 2020 I was obviously feeling very positive & ambitious, unlike this year when I‘m feeling more like no challenges for 2021, boycott them all! 🤣 what a difference a year makes. 3y
Graywacke Awesome. And enjoy the 2021 boycott if it works that way. 3y

AmyG Amazing job! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Graywacke Thank you! 😂. I doubt I‘ll hold out, but I think I‘ll limit it to maybe 1 or 2 this year. 3y
Reggie Wow, great job! 3y
KVanRead 👏👏👏 3y
cozypunk Great list! I read Barracoon this year as well. 3y
cozypunk Oooh, I didn't know that Malala has another book out. Off to add it to my tbr. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @dandy.punk It‘s a shorter one, highlighting stories of other refugees. It was excellent though, I‘d recommend it! 3y

4⭐️ For most of the book, I quite enjoyed it, but when I got into the last 50 pages of the book, I was unable to get into it and just wanted the book to end. I can see why people really like book the book. Was my #bookspin book for November #oprahsbookclub #africanamericanliterature #historicalfiction #fiction #bookreview #bookstagram #2020 #u #litsyatoz #litsyatoz2020

Darthdad I really enjoyed this one as well but felt the same as you did towards the end. I liked his other book The Nickel Boys much better. 3y

4⭐️ I picked the book because I needed a #k book for #litsyatoz2020. While the story slowly built, it certainly was worth it and by the end I was enjoying the book. I quite enjoyed the historical note at the end of the book. #2020 #bookreview #bookstagram #koppsisters #historicalfiction #mystery #fiction #ww1

I love Richman's work. She takes a real event, researches it, and then builds a beautiful story around it. This highlights a real apartment found in Paris in 2010 that had not been opened for 70 years. The people are real, there is just little known about them and Richman wove together a lovely novel giving a possibility.

I very much enjoyed this book. Being with Britt-Marie as she navigates the unknown and learns more about herself was fun. And up to the end, I was worried about the decision she had to make. I was so happy with how Backman ended it, although I would love to follow more of her journey.

1. I‘m 5 books ahead of schedule for my #GoodreadsGoal & I think I have 7 letters left for #LitsyAtoZ2020.
2. Thanks to embracing audiobooks, I‘ve been reading more. For the first time in years, I actually increased my Goodreads goal—twice!
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView! #Two4Tuesday

8 books completed in June. My favourites were Uprooted & Born a Crime. I also really enjoyed Circe & The Way Home. With the year half over, I just realized I should probably take some time to see how I‘m doing with reading challenges, like #LitsyAtoZ2020. I haven‘t updated my list for months 😳 Thanks to audiobooks, I‘m acing my #GoodreadsChallenge! I‘ve upped my goal twice & I‘m still ahead 😃#JuneStats

Powered_By_Plants Well done 👍 great books. How did you find the highly sensitive person by Elaine Aron . I started it a while back and need to finish it. Could definitely relate to a lot! 😊 4y
TK-421 @Powered_By_Plants Thanks! I didn‘t get as much out of it as I hoped I would. It was interesting & I identify with many traits of the HSP (22/23 on the questionnaire) but I didn‘t always agree with what she had to say—especially when it came to medication or the spiritual side of things—but my cynicism, mental, & physical illnesses influenced my opinions there. I‘m interested in the reframing exercises she introduced so I may reread sometime 4y

4⭐️ While I didn‘t enjoy it as nearly as much as the first two in the series, I did enjoy it. I felt that it did kind of drag on at times. I just couldn‘t get into at least until right until the last 4 or 5 chapters. #historicalfiction #bookstagram #bookreview #timetravel #outlander #2020 #litsyatoz #litsyatoz2020 #v

Scochrane26 If you think this one drags, wait until you get to book 5. 😂 I still have 1 1/2 books left. I read about one a year. 4y

While a fairly short book, it is a book that delves deeply into a subject that has both contemporary and historical aspects. It puts a human face on a story that can seem faceless at times.
