Okay add me to the long list of people who rave about this book. It was SO SWEET. It is the definition of cozy. I loved the girls, I loved the magic, I loved the romance. The conflict was there, but just low stakes enough to not ping my anxiety.
Just read this, if you haven't already. I'm so glad I own this book, I can see it becoming an annual reread.
Also I want some of Mika's tea ☕✨

Spell Bound | F.T. Lukens

This is my new favorite Lukens novel. I loved this magical world of sorcery! Rook is desperate to be a part of the magical world despite not having magic & convinces a powerful curse breaker w/a penchant for breaking the rules to accept him. He meets another apprentice, Sun, who reluctantly becomes his friend despite their social aversion & prickliness. But when the Consortium finds out about Rook they must work together to save both their mentors

There are a lot of witchy romances out there and not all of them are great. But I thought this one was so unique and well written. Essie and her coven have some quirky magical powers and I loved their house with a mind of it's own. She and Josh have great chemistry but they both have past traumas that they need to process, while also trying to stop an evil monster spirit from ending the world.

Victor Frankenstein's sister Angelika is a headstrong, unique woman who hasn't been able to find a suitable husband. So she pieces one together herself and gives him life again. But while her creation is everything she wants in a man, he is tormented by the past he can't remember and the life he left behind. She reluctantly tries to help him investigate even as they fall more for each other. This was such a fun story with great characters!

Oliver is a necromancer. Even within the Paranormal Society, it is a power he must keep secret. One of his rules is never to reanimate someone he knows. But when he stumbles upon his longtime crush Felipe murdered, he reacts without thinking. Now Felipe refuses to die again until they find his killer.
Oliver is neurodivergent and thrust way out of his comfort zone while investigator Felipe is ready to go punching people for answers 😅

In the Hall with the Knife: A Clue Mystery #1 | Diana Peterfreund, Hasbro, Inc.

Pickpick

This was a fun Clue reimagining. Students at a boarding school are trapped during a storm and the headmaster is found dead in the morning. Each has a secret to hide and a possible motive for murder. It was interestingly told from multiple perspectives, leaning into the unreliable narrators.
There are a few more mysteries in this style that I'll check out in future as well #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
