3½ ✨

Didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one.
At first it dragged and then the ending felt rushed and a bit incomplete. I'd like it if I could have joined Nicolas in his final voyage. Not just get a one paragraph summary of it. In fact I feel it could have been a whole book on its own.

Cute and funny story of a stressed out country star hiding out in a small town to find the joy in her music again. Shenanigans ensue and she gals for the big, burly . . . pie shop owner? This one was heavy on quirky town characters and light on spice. Perfect commuter book on #audio #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Pantone2023 #SpringCrocus

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! This one is on my TBR as well!! 1y

I really enjoyed this book. Kris was in the band Durt Wurk until their vocalist Terry sold their souls & sold them out. Now Kris is trying to stop him from causing more destruction.
Terry, now known as the Blind King is pegged as a mix of Nine Inch Nails & Marilyn Manson which my younger Gothic self would have loved 🖤

This wasn't for me.
It's not a bad story, but personally there's just too many things I dislike.

It Takes a Villa | Kilby Blades
post image

Finished this one last night. One of my #roll100 picks and also my January #bookspin 🎉

This was sweet romance set in Italy. After losing her Grandmother, Natalie leaves everything and goes to Italy to restore a Villa just like they always talked about doing together. Pietro is an Italian architect and restorationist who is also part of the restoration council. He starts helping Natalie with her villa and they fall in love. ⬇️

MeganAnn This was mostly sweet & the restoration aspect was a fun addition. However some of it felt rushed or like there were some steps missing. The MCs go from meeting & dislike to being attracted very quickly without much reason. And the mystery about her grandmother‘s past in Italy was sort of forgotten about then tied up in the Epilogue. Not sure if this was the author‘s error or an editing issue & some of those steps were taken out. 1y
MeganAnn Overall I still liked it and if you can suspend some disbelief and go with it then you may like it. Especially if you like HGTV remodeling shows or want something set in Italy filled with sunshine and lemons. #pantone2023 #springcrocus @Clwojick (edited) 1y

💜💜💜 Love Love Love! What a brilliant introduction to Miss Marple. I‘d actually never read this one before and can‘t wait to discuss it with everyone next week! All the suspects were set up so plausibly that I couldn‘t stop reading to find out which one it actually was. I was suspicious of everyone. #GoldenAgeCrimeClub #Pantone2023 #SpringCrocus #JoyousJanuary #Sharreadathon @Mitch @Clwojick @Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @StayCurious

Ruthiella I knew who done it, having read it a couple of times before, and I marveled at how skillfully Christie plotted it. 1y
IndoorDame @Ruthiella she really is well named as ‘the queen of crime‘ 1y
