I‘m indulging in the full multisensory effect of this book !
I read this as a child and it stayed with me.
I bought this book several years ago for my oldest daughter & have saved it for my grandchildren when they get older.
I am worried for dear Kit!

How did I miss this one growing up?! Loved it and I adored the quirky and relatable Anastasia. I will definitely be checking out other books in this series and now I‘m in the mood to hang an orangutan poster in my room…

The #ChildrensClassicRead2024 September pick & replaces The Storyteller as #74 (Any Audiobook) on my #Roll100 list because quite frankly I‘m very angry at Dave Grohl for his life choices & refuse to listen to his book right now.

But back to Anastasia Krupnik which was a delight to listen to. I was not familiar with this 1979 children‘s book & series but it‘s fun & funny & I‘ll go back & listen to the other books.

I picked up my library hold on the tagged book which finally came in on Saturday & also grabbed some Hawaii speculative fiction stories & Nancy Drew #12 for #NancyDrewBuddyRead

At the library bookstore 1/2-off sale I got The Library Book (which is on my #TBR), 2 seasonal cozies (1 for #HauntedShelf ) & our #ChildrensClassicRead2024 October pick The Witch of Blackbird Pond for the grand total of $3.50 so that‘s a win! 📚 The book🐔🐔approve! 😉

I had not read this cherished fav in so long, I was horrified to discover my copy somehow has an all-wrong photo cover instead of the original. (Not the wild one above, that's an Italian edition. What is even happening?) Now that I'm practically an Old, the pathos of the book really got to me, and also what fantastic parents Anastasia has. It's one of those books written at several levels, so all ages can enjoy.

I recognize this title, but I‘m not sure whether I read it as a kid or not. It‘s not one of the Lowry books I specifically remember. I thought Anastasia‘s “mercurial temperament” and constant lists were wonderfully realistic and relatable, as well as amusing.
