Pickpick

Loved this book! Took me ages to finally read it!
It‘s so true that your mood & the medium used effect your reading.
I tried this e-book about >5 years ago, thought it was meh and set it aside pretty quickly.
I like epistolary style (84 Charing Cross road is still in my top 10 books of all time) and all my reading buddies loved it, so I was shocked!
Tried it again via audio and absolutely loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thanks to #bookedintime for the 🥾

Took this idea from @BarbaraBB and decided to post my #52Books23 challenge progress 😊
I‘ve read 44 out of 52 prompts 😌I‘d say MOST were picks with very few duds🤩

LeeRHarry That‘s amazing! I have read 14 but I‘ll get there 😄 13mo
Librarybelle Amazing!! 13mo

TrishB Brilliant 👍🏻 13mo
ravenlee Hooray! I‘m at the point where my choices have to be more carefully chosen now, instead of relying on coincidence. Think I‘ve read 30/52. 13mo
AshleyHoss820 Excellent reading so far! It‘s so nice that it‘s been good reading overall, too! 🎉🎉🎉 13mo
Cinfhen I love these challenges as it helps dictate my reading and introduced me to several new authors @AshleyHoss820 @ravenlee @TrishB @Suet624 @Librarybelle @LeeRHarry 13mo
Deblovestoread Wow! I‘m at 21. Some of my planning includes doubling up with #Booked throughput the year. 13mo
Cinfhen I tried to #DoubleDip @Deblovestoread or even sneak in a #TriplePlay or #GrandSlam as often as possible 😉 it‘s part of the fun 😂 13mo
BarbaraBB You‘re almost done already! Some great reads there! 13mo
squirrelbrain Wow, you‘ve read loads! ❤️ 13mo
Bluebird Amazing progress! You‘ll be done soon! I‘m at 21 now, but i‘ve read most of the easy prompts so it will be tougher going forward 13mo
LaraReads This is so fantastic! Wowzers! 13mo
Cinfhen Other than #octaviabutler and #ABookEveryoneHasRead im in pretty good shape with the remaining prompts @BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain @Bluebird @LaraReads there are definitely a few trickier prompts but luckily I was able to borrow from online sources like #Scribd and #Libby 😁 13mo
BarbaraBB There will be few books everyone has read but you 😛 13mo
Cinfhen I might have to try again with Harry Potter @BarbaraBB ⚡️👓🧹 13mo
Bklover How was The House Is On Fire? That one sounds interesting 🤔 13mo

Mehso-so

A sweeping epic tale of immigrants to Hollywood from europe during WWII. This felt overwritten to my ear. If the novel focused more on one story, it would have been more effective for me. An OK read. #Tob23 #52bookclub23 #abookeveryonehasread

squirrelbrain I liked this when I read it but, you‘re right, there‘s so many different stories; I can‘t remember a single one now. 14mo
jlhammar I just finished this! I liked it, but not nearly as much as I was hoping to (I adored his previous two books.) I still found a lot to appreciate, but I'll definitely be rooting for The Book of Goose in their ToB match-up. 14mo
rmaclean4 @jlhammar Book of Goose is my vote also! 14mo
Librarybelle I‘ve not read this one, but with so many so-so reviews, I think I‘m fine to set it to just keep it on my to read list 14mo

I started this years ago, but after loving Evelyn Hugo so much I wasn‘t fully into it. Decided to give it a go again, since the show is coming soon. Listening to the audio of it too. A little over halfway & liking it much more. #52bookclub23 #abookeveryonehasread

I was also really sick this past week, so have not felt much like reading at all. And have been missing all of you! ❤️ Ready to get back on track.

squirrelbrain Good to hear you‘re feeling a bit better, and to see you back! I enjoyed this when I read it (yes, I was on of those who read it as soon as it was published) but I don‘t think I‘ll watch it. 1y
Librarybelle Glad you‘re feeling better! I loved this one 1y
LaraReads @squirrelbrain @Librarybelle Thank you! Much better! And, yes, wasn‘t sure I was going to watch it either, but my husband seems excited for it (he loves music like I love books) and we rarely agree on TV to watch together, so we‘ll see! 1y
