Walking the Nile | Levison Wood
post image
Pickpick

Lev Wood is the most delightful travel companion you‘ll ever come across!! This was my second time journeying with him and I LOVED every minute!!!! I learnt a ton about the places he visited and really felt like I was experiencing first hand all that he saw. Really fantastic!!! Using for #Uganda but works for #Rwanda #Tanzania #SouthSudan #Sudan #Egypt #ReadingAfrica22

BarbaraBB I have books for those countries already but I might read it anyway. I am now reading a travel book too for Congo by a journalist that‘s very good: 3d
BarbaraBB Have you heard anything about my parcel? It should have been delivered at May 5. I mailed it April 28, so May 5 seemed pretty ambitious to me but I haven‘t heard since 🤨 3d
Librarybelle I will really have to check this out! 3d

The book was filled with a good spooky feel, exciting and thrilling as I was rooting for our young heroes.

I recommend reading this series if interested in the paranormal and ghosts for a younger audience. Adventure and friendship go hand in hand in this series.

Like the first book in the series, it is a short book, fun for a younger audience, filled with a great friendship between a human girl and a ghost, and the two of them going on a frightening but exciting adventure in a foreign city.

#scribd #audiobook

KristiAhlers I really liked this one. And it is a fun series for both YA and adults. I‘m starting the third in this series sometime this week. 2w

The library hasn‘t bought any of Tuesday‘s releases yet, so I‘m actually going to have to read my own books!! 😲 I‘d especially like to get to today‘s Audible deal, Puzzle Solver, about a medical mystery. I am going to shoot for another Highsmith with Strangers on a Train. Looking forward to Hawk‘s Way, too.

The Change is fantastic so far! Really digging these menopausal women. 😁 IJ is still going well but a challenge for sure. #WeeklyForecast

Megabooks Of course the second I post this, I get the new Kawakami from the library!! Add that for sure! @BarbaraBB 2w
Cinfhen Love the graphics 💕and lots of fabulous choices 2w
Cinfhen I wish I added the Change to my last #BOTM box but it said magical realism, which I hate…. 2w

BarbaraBB Such great plans! 2w
AUDIOBOOKINGWITHLEAH I'm listening to THE CHANGE right now, too. 2w
Megabooks @Cinfhen the change is very mildly magical realism so far. I‘m 100 pages in and I love these ladies! 2w
Megabooks @squirrelbrain can‘t wait to read what you think, and I hope you have a good week too! 2w
Megabooks @BarbaraBB thanks! 😘 2w
Megabooks @AUDIOBOOKINGWITHLEAH I‘m reading a print copy but I can see it working well on audio 2w
Cinfhen I‘m hoping it‘ll show up on #Scribd 🤞🏽 2w
AUDIOBOOKINGWITHLEAH @Megabooks While I would've liked for it to have narrators for each of the MCs...January LaVoy did a phenomenal performance. 2w
Megabooks @AUDIOBOOKINGWITHLEAH oh yeah! She‘s a fantastic VO artist. 👍🏻🙌🏻 2w

Puppies For Dummies | Sarah Hodgson

Overall, an interesting Dummies book for training puppies. You can learn from it while still being critical about the information that is said.

I recommend this book to people who would want to adopt a dog, or have a puppy already and are looking for some information on puppies, their behavior, and how to teach them things.

A fun, quick read about the supernatural and our young main character going on an adventure with her ghost best friend.

I strongly disliked her first essay collection (tagged ⬇️), so I almost passed on this one, but it was actually pretty funny. Klein writes humorously about the first five years raising her only child in her early 40s. Is it a bit rich white famous people problems? Sure, but I still laughed. Her essays on toilet training and finding the right clothes with a mom bod were especially funny. A good #BorrowNotBuy #audiobook.

Cinfhen It‘s on #Scribd so it‘s on my #ReaderRadar #SomedaySoon - thanks for the tag xx 3w
Megabooks @Cinfhen it‘s fun but okay to wait imo. 3w

What a fun and uplifting memoir! Nyle is a proud 4th-generation Deaf person, and his self-confidence is infectious. He admits he gets it from being raised in the Deaf community with ASL as his first language. He shared stories about his childhood and time in Deaf vs mainstream schools. He related fun stories from Gallaudet before writing about his wins on ANTM & DWTS. He shared a bit about his sexuality, too. A must-read if you loved True Biz! ⬇️

Megabooks ⬆️ I will admit it was weird reading an audiobook written by a Deaf person, but the audio production was well done, and at no time did I “forget” his deafness. (edited) 3w
vlwelser I love him. I'll have to check this out. 3w
KathyWheeler I actually watched his season of ANTM and was pulling for him the whole time. I loved his personality, plus he‘s quite good looking. 3w

Cinfhen Since I haven‘t read True Biz yet and I have no clue who this handsome man is, I‘m going to wait before I pick up the audio from #Scribd / thanks for the wonderful review 💜 3w
Megabooks @vlwelser I didn‘t know him at all, so I was really excited to find him. It sounds like he was amazing on ANTM @KathyWheeler I haven‘t watched the show in years, but I‘m tempted to see if I can find that cycle on streaming. 3w
Megabooks @Cinfhen you don‘t have to know him (I didn‘t) or have read True Biz to enjoy this. They are completely separate books about the Deaf community. I do think you‘d enjoy this when you are in the mood for something uplifting/funny. It set the bar high for celebrity memoirs this year! 3w
Cinfhen Ok!! I‘ll definitely check it out!! Just saw your email ☹️will write later ♥️ 3w
ValerieAndBooks It wasn‘t always fun reading though! I was in tears sometimes because I know exactly what Nyle was talking about when he was talking about the hurdles and barriers we often face. 3w
Megabooks @ValerieAndBooks very true! I stand corrected. I guess I wanted to put a wedge between this and a disability memoir that is really sad/morose/woe is me. This felt more like a celebrity memoir with a lot substance to me. 3w
ValerieAndBooks @Megabooks I think Nyle balanced everything out very well. He‘s very upbeat overall which I like, but without discounting or downplaying the issues that come up in the Deaf community. 3w

I have always been interested in history, and the life and end of the Romanovs. Helen Rappaport very thoroughly describes the lives of the four sisters, the Grand Duchesses. Through sources, letters and diaries we follow their lives from childhood to growing up as young ladies. The lives they led and the hardships they endured. It was a story full of emotions and acts from the past.
