May 3, 2024 MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU! and HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!! I do not celebrate either but I thought I would say that since they happen one after the other. I got back into reading Love, Theoretically. How does one read this book? It was very detailed and wordy in the beginning. As I am reaching the middle of the book, it is getting better but still slow. I am on the part where Elise (Dr. Hannaway) realizes that Jonathan Smith Turner is Jack
Pretty sure Ali is officially a new favorite. I adored this book because of how messy the characters are. Elsie is trying so hard to be the person people want her to be. Relatable. To the point that she bypasses what she wants. I loved watching her grow to put herself first at points. Jack is such an amazing man; pushing her to speak up for herself. Ending was felt so deep; so proud of her.
Elsie‘s an adjunct professor by day & a paid fake-girlfriend by night. Sweet deal, until one of her clients‘ brother, Jack, catches her in the act. He & her mentor have beef. She‘s trying to get a job at MIT, but he‘s on the hiring committee. How‘s she still drawn to him?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is my favorite of hers so far. It was cute, hilarious, & kinda spicy; everything. I loved the chemistry between all the characters. The plot & writing were great.
April 22, 2024 HAPPY EARTH DAY! I did not save the planet earlier today by driving here but I did do myself a favor by exercising and reading my book that I stopped midway because "Why not?" I felt like I needed to begin it again since I was not fully concentrated on the words. Well, here I am...
April 5th, 2024 Next TBR is Love, Theoretically
Another Hazelwood winner! A slower burn than I remember in her previous books, but the characters were so dynamic that I didn't care at all. So well done, and the plot definitely felt more "unique" than her previous books. While the burn was slow, the latent sparks were excellent. Dare I say... my favorite of her books so far?! ???
This sounds like something that would come up on my neighborhood facebook page.
I think I love this elderly lady.
Nice! Solid reference.
March 25, 2024 Went to Target and bit the bullet by getting the third book by Ali Hazelwood: Love, Theoretically. In addition to that book, I also got The House in the Pines by Ana Reyes AND So Not Meant to Be by Megan Quinn. Can't wait to read all three!!!
This was such a great romance, I devoured it in two days. Enemies to lovers, he fell first, 'who did this to you?' tropes so well done. I related so hard to Elsie, a major people pleaser with anxiety who feels like a burden to others, and Jack reminded me of my partner, showing her that it's okay to be taken care of. Hazelwood once again highlights the difficulty of being a woman in STEM and gives us a complicated & wonderful couple to root for
#LuckyInLove Day 19: Definitely a #Kiss in this book cover - bought a copy of this book as a gift to one of my teenage nieces in Manila last Christmas.
A romance in which a scientist hires herself out as a fake girlfriend until she runs into her favorite client‘s brother in a professional setting and her side gig is in jeopardy. To be honest the context feels flimsy…professional fake girlfriend with no sex does not feel like a real thing. Still fun though!
I finished this book in one day 😍!! I think I would rate this 4.5 stars. I think the main character was very relatable (and a bit broken) but the LOVE INTEREST, HE SHOWS UP and ADMITS HE WAS WRONG like you can have my heart sir, also loved the science and academic in this book!! Some parts of this book were forgettable but overall AMAZING 🤩
An amazing, cute romance, that made me realize I know nothing about science. I will never be over Jack, he is my favourite protective, way too obsessed boyfriend. Him and Elsie were WAY too cute together and I loved the development of their relationship. Enemies to lovers but he never actually hated her, my favourite trope. It also has he fell first AND he fell harder, my other favourite trope. This book was the perfect secret Santa gift.
After The Love Hypothesis, I‘m ready for another one of Ali‘s romances ❤️
For day 2 of the #wintergamesphotochallenge and #love we have my favourite recent romance novel!
#wintergames #snowangels
Rom-com cute. Another good one from Ali Hazelwood.
I really enjoyed Jack + Elsie! The chemistry, the storyline, the no-nonsense. But then she kept bringing up the article this 30+ year old man wrote when he was 17?? And she kept doubting his feelings?? And everyone treated “hating theorists” like it was bigotry, not an academic opinion he clearly didn‘t feel (and said he didn‘t multiple times). A little frustrating. But I loved watching her gain confidence; these academia politics are VERY REAL!!
Enjoying great weather on holiday eve with a festive drink then a few chapters of the tagged book.
Every time I pick up one of her books I know I won‘t put it down until I‘ve read the whole thing. Her first person is so good you laugh and cry with the characters, the best way to tell via first person. This book is a great read I highly recommend. I can‘t wait to read more of her books.
Book 51 of 2023! Absolutely adorable, couldn‘t put it down…and funny as well! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
October wrap-up! I finished 11 books with no duds.
🥇Love, Theoretically
🥈Mortal Follies
🥉Doppelganger
I do love Hazelwood‘s books. This is no exception. The couple are adorable, but Hazelwood is just helping to make science cool. She writes the politics of science very well.

Cute romance with a predictable HEA. I loved the characters, especially the character of Elsie as the pleaser worked so well. Liked that Jack was able to see through her shell. I even thought the supporting characters were awesome. 4⭐️

Moral of the story: find someone who loves and respects your rage.
Ali Hazelwood strikes again! She packed in so much and I still found myself laughing out loud. This is not just a romcom, Elsie is a stand-in for all the performances those of us who don‘t fall into a majority demographic have to put on, and the consequences if we don‘t fit someone else‘s standards.
Read for a good time and a smart, lighthearted walk through some serious topics.
Ali Hazwood's books are like a really rich chocolate cake-- you know what you're going to get and it's delicious when you're in the right mood for it. Yes the enemies to lovers, oblivious heroine who doesn't realize the gruff, giant of a man is in love with her is all the same, but dang if I don't still enjoy it every time. And the theoretical vs experimental physicist drama was quite interesting.
The last book was pretty heavy so I‘m moving on to light and fluffy. This one should last me until the plane lands ✈️ I think this is my #bookspin for this month, but I‘ll double check when I get home @TheAromaofBooks
This was so good!
- The Big Bang Theory prepared me for this! 😂
- I like Hazelwood.
- This is the first book of hers that made me LOL.
- An Aro-Ace character?! Hnnng, yes!!
- My favourite AH so far.
- Unputdownable. 🫶
17 books read in August! Not too shabby! The tagged was my favorite.
#augustwrapup
#two4tuesday
1. The tagged book. I love all the books in this series!
2. I liked the female MC, Elsie. She‘s a physicist, so she‘s obviously intelligent, but she‘s also flawed, and just trying to find her way in her field and in her personal life. And there are some funny scenes!
If you want to play, consider yourself tagged! 🤗
I love Ali Hazelwood‘s books! I love how they deal with the modern woman‘s issues, in a STEM environment, with humor, romance, and care.
This one focused on an enemies-to-lovers trope, and though some conflict centered on misunderstandings (my least favorite conflict device), the “he has actually liked me this whole time?!?” thing was written well.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Probably will be my favorite of the month.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4.5 ★
I‘m convinced that Ali Hazelwood can do no wrong when it comes to writing.
Her books and characters are relatable, charming, sexy, funny, witty all while integrating serious notes of emotion and what it‘s like to be a woman in male dominated fields. Love, Theoretically is all those things plus an enemies to lovers, empowering, embrace who you truly are plotline. Highly recommend! #LitsyLoveReads
My favorite read from last week.

Another cute Ali Hazelwood book that's the same formula as her other works, but it's so addicive and cute with the right amount of spice!
4/5 🌟
