Love Hypothesis | Ali Hazelwood

#12booksfor2025

In October, I finally read a very popular book - I tend to avoid super hyped books but the casting announcement for the movie struck me as quite funny and I decided for full enjoyment, I needed to have read it. And I had such a good time!

I‘m now slowly making my way through Ali Hazelwood‘s backlist.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘ve just wrapped up The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. OH MY GOSH I didn‘t expect to feel so deeply for a for a grumpy professor and a sunshine in denial PhD student… ✨

It‘s witty and nerdy 🤓 I would definitely recommend if you love a contemporary romance ❤️‍🔥

I really liked this book at first — Ali Hazelwood is an engaging writer, and everything was sweet and confused and very trope-y. But the closer I got to the end, the more I cringed. I know miscommunication is a popular plot device, but COME ON. And I saw the “crisis” point coming from pretty much the beginning, so no joy there either. I almost didn‘t bother finishing, but I did. Sigh. Maybe I‘ll switch to mystery for a while…

You can use this book in the classroom to show students how math connects to real life and why sticking with something matters. It‘s also good for talking about strong role models and encouraging kids, especially girls, to feel confident in math.

it is an inspiring story that shows how Katherine Johnson used her love of math to help NASA. It‘s easy for students to understand and a great book for teaching perseverance and problem-solving

“Katherine yearned to know as much as she could about numbers, about the universe – about everything!”

This would be a good supplement for students when they are doing a research project in your classroom.
