This book had a lot of potential. Amazon claims this is teachers pick for K-8; disregard that. There are references to domestic and sexual violence, including scenes of r*pe, killing sex workers, etc. Do not recommend for anyone under 16.
In other news, it was not surprising, no plot twists, nothing exciting or different. It was very frustrating at times as well but if you want to give it a try, I won't spoil it.

For now I wasn‘t going to worry, though. For now I was going to eat steak with the people I loved and enjoy the warm April afternoon, and for a while, I wouldn‘t have to pretend to be okay.

Definitely a must read if you enjoy YA and suspense books. Another great book from this author. I really liked that the story continues even after summer is rescued. The author taps into the real life struggles of what a survivor of such crimes would face. From start to finish, this book is suspenseful and you fall right into the pages.

I don't really read thrillers or do the true crime thing. But I picked this up for October and enjoyed it! I feel it was a good intro to the genre. Only issue was the ending felt a bit too rushed/sudden, like the author just wanted to be done with the story.Though a series it can work as a stand alone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I really liked the main character Summer how she was determined to get out of the situation. I wasn‘t to shocked bout the ending just because I understand why Summer was like that. I really like this book I am happy I read it. Also it was my first book Natasha Preston. *Google said this was the first book to the series now I can read You‘ll Always Be Mine*

This man is completely mad! Summer, an all-American teenage girl, is abducted by a maniac who keeps calling her Lily. This story, told through three alternative voices, got me hooked right away. Although it does feel a bit rushed and predictable at the end, I think it's still worth reading!

Ok so I‘m about half way thru this one and let me tell you... it does not disappoint!!!

It grabs you by about page 4 and the action is non stop after that..
Real quick spoiler to get you interested.

A 16yr old girl gets kidnapped and locked in a Cellar with 3 other girls... the story gets deeper from there and I don‘t want to ruin it for you!

As of now I‘m giving this a 4⭐️/5 only because I‘m not finished and I need to know how this book ends!

Wow...This story had me on the edge the whole time. CLOVER a sick bastard who's dream was to have the perfect family. Lily, Poppy, Rose and Violet were it. The perfect pure girls he bad to save from this horrible word. He wanted them to understand what he was doing for them, to thank him for protecting them but they didnt. All they knew is that they had to fight for their life. Natasha Preston brings us yet another exciting thriller.

I‘m not crazy for a story that‘s expected. Plus I think she should‘ve been more tuned in to missing her family V.S. her boyfriend. Nicely written though. Just too “blah” for my personal taste. I mean come on- before I was 10 years I was reading the Harry Potter series and Stephen King novels. So please don‘t take offense Natasha Preston fans! Just count me out of being one of them now.
