Eleven years ago, six kindergartners went missing without a trace. After all that time, the people left behind moved on, or tried to. Until today. Today five of those kids return. They're sixteen, and they are . . . fine. Scarlett comes home and finds a mom she barely recognizes, and doesn't really recognize the person she's supposed to be, either. But she thinks she remembers Lucas. Lucas remembers Scarlett, too, except they're entirely unable to recall where they've been or what happened to them. Neither of them remember the sixth victim, Max--the only one who hasn't come back. Which leaves Max's sister, Avery, wanting answers. She wants to find her brother--dead or alive--and isn't buying this whole memory-loss story. But as details of the disappearance begin to unfold, no one is prepared for the truth. This unforgettable novel--with its rich characters, high stakes, and plot twists--will leave readers breathless.

Lucas opened the urn and the wind cooperated as he shook it and the ashes swirled high—like in a movie about spells—before settling and disappearing at their feet.
A return to form.
We are all dust.
All dying.
All losing.
All forgetting.
We are all leaving all the time.

Five teenagers return to their hometown 11 years after they mysteriously disappeared. They have no memory of who took them, where they've been, or even if they've been together during those years. Most unsettling, none of them has any memory of Matt, the sixth child presumed kidnapped with the five.

For most of this book I wasn‘t sure what to make of it, but it did kinda suck me in. I wanted to unravel the mystery of the kids that were taken and returned 11 years later. Scarlett‘s pov was kinda weird with the formatting and everything but it was interesting. The premise was definitely one that held my interest

Bk28 of June & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! I didn‘t realise this is considered a YA thriller until I finished, explains sooo much. While it was intriguing, the style of writing was a bit strange. It had parts where the words on the page made the shapes they were saying & the ending was implausible IMO. But hey, that‘s my opinion. #Pageathon #BookspinBingo #14Books14Weeks2021 #PennyPerPage

radesilets Haha, I loved this book because of the weird typography. But I agree, the ending was a bit off the rails. 😅 3y

Next up from yesterday‘s #bookmail is this mystery/thriller about six kindergarten children that disappeared without a trace. Eventually their families moved on, until 11yrs later when five unexpectedly show up with no memories of what happened to them, and no memory of the sixth child, Max, and where he is now. But Max‘s sister Avery isn‘t buying this memory loss story. Sounds brilliant!

3.5 Took me a while to finished it but finally mystery solved. The book it‘s about these six kids who disappear one the first day of school. Eleven years later, just five of them come back. The plot revolves around finding what happened to them all those years since they don‘t remember at all. At the end, I was surprised with the twist didn‘t saw it coming 😂. So, yeah in other words a gripping enjoyable read.😊

It started very slo but about 3/4 of the way through it started rolling. I really liked the story even with the slow start. 6 children disappear from their first day kindergarten and returned 11 years later.

This was an amazing read. I was so excited when I finally got a chance to read this book. One thing that stuck out about this book for me, was the importance of remembering. Even if we don‘t want to remember something that happened, it‘s important to remember, and learn from it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So far, so good. What I have so far is that, six children were taken when they were in kindergarten never seen again until 11 years later when only five of them show up as 16 year olds with no memory of the past 11 years. You would say that if you enjoy si-fi/ mystery books then this would be a good pick for you. And I feel like the tone and of this book would be sad and depressing.

MissYaremcio I love the format of your picture! Make sure you include all elements of the assignment in your post (you were missing the pacing)! 4y

3.5/5 ⭐

While I enjoyed reading this book . It was a little bit of a disappointment.

So much more could of happened with a story like this. They were so many possibilities and potential but I feel like everything was wrapped up too "nicely".

It wasn't bad it kept me reading and I was curious to know what had happened to the six kids. It was still interesting.

This is my current read also from my #BookOutlet haul; It is about 6 kindergarteners that went missing 11 years ago without a trace. Then, 5 come back, without any recollection of what happened to them or where they were, or even any memory of the still missing 6th kid, Max. Luckily for him, Max‘s younger sister refuses to believe their memory loss story, and goes digging for the truth, hoping to find Max: dead or alive. #tbr #mystery

Sooo I live in the fingerlakes (aka wine country) and there‘s always something new coming in town. Recently a new brewery that also offers wine came in to Geneva,NY. Webe Brewing is seriously picturesque, and in the corner is this beautiful sitting area with an electric fireplace. My first thought was “I could drink and read my book here”.😂📖🍻

This book was amazing! Imagine disappearing when you‘re 5, only to return home 11 years later, remembering nothing! It is categorized as YA, but I wouldn‘t have guessed that...great writing and I plan to get her other book!
