This was a rather lackluster collection of stories. I dnf'ed quite a few, and the ones I did finish were mostly meh. No wonder it took me all year to get through it. Out of the 40 I liked 2.

Been reading this on and off since February as filler reading. My goal is finish these stories by the end of the year. These stories are good for dipping in and out of between festivities 🎄📖

More and more I realise that there are good short stories collections out there. This is one example of a very, very good one. I loved it more with every page. Seeing the whole movie through all those different eyes? Meeting people and creatures that are only shadows in the main plot? This is just pure awesomeness! My favourite story was the one with the Space Snail ❤

RamsFan1963 I loved this one and the one for Star Wars: A New Hope. I'm looking forward to the volume for Return of the Jedi. Maybe we'll get a story from the Rancor trainer? 2y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I really enjoyed both of these too… such a great way to revisit a story you think you know. 2y
Twainy I love the 2 Star Wars collections. ❤️ 2y

Many many days late, I completely forgot until @BookwormAHN posted about the book today! So sorry #StarWarsBuddyRead

Here is our November read! I hope everyone enjoyed Thrawn last month (mine still hasn‘t come in from the library).

And yes @BookwormAHN I‘ll post a new schedule for 2022 very soon, we are caught up on the “older” new cannon books, so from here on, it will mostly be by publication order. 😉

I enjoyed this one much more than the first one. I especially liked the stories that were set on Hoth. My favorite was A Good Kiss by C B Lee 💚
#StarWarsBuddyRead @Riveted_Reader_Melissa When are we going to pick new books?

4/5

Another fascinating collection of short stories exploring the world of stars wars through the eyes of background characters. Some of my favorites were A Naturalist on Hoth by Hank Green, This is No Cave by Catherynne M. Valente, and But What Does He Eat by S. A. Chakraborty. Every one is a deep dive into the stories happening offscreen in The Empire Strikes Back.

Also Jim Zub wrote one, so I'm counting this as my final letter in #litsyatoz

wisherwishinguponastar I loved the first book in this series, but I thought that one dwelt heavily on the cantina scene. Did this one cover Empire Strikes Back more evenly? 3y
sebrittainclark @booksellerofyourdiscontent we get a lot of Hoth and a lot of Cloud City in this one, but it felt less bogged down than the first one did in just a single scene. 3y
wisherwishinguponastar Awesome! I will have to give it a shot. Empire is my favorite Star Wars movie, so I was excited to see they were continuing with this idea! 3y

1. Tea (iced or hot) or creme soda.
2. Classical music or movie scores. No lyrics.
3. This made me smile, lots of warm Star Wars nostalgia when it was all new, not like now with movies, TV shows, books, comics, video games etc..

#SuperSunday @Fantasy_bookworm

Reggie I‘m super bummed. They discontinued diet Dr Pepper creme soda. The only diet that tasted like the real thing. 3y
Reggie Do you have a favorite for #2. I like Wokjiechijz, totally misspelled his name, but he did the score for Dracula, and Bernard Herrmann, he did a lot for Hitchcock movies. 3y
RamsFan1963 @Reggie It's a hard choice. John Williams of course, Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman, John Barry, Alan Silvestri, Howard Shore, James Horner and many others... 3y

Like most Star Wars fans, The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite film in the series. This volume, like the movie, has a darker, more serious tone, stories that don't always have happy endings. None the less, I enjoyed the "behind the scene" nature of the stories. 4 ???? 1/2
