When you read a book by an author that can produce a story that grips you for the beginning to its end and makes you cheer for both the good and bad characters it‘s far superior to other books… there are very few authors that I enjoy, contemplate, and compare to my top 5 authors… and then move one of my top 5 down to accommodate their books, after reading this and “The Devils” books, this is now a fact. Joe Abercrombie has bumped up #5

These two paragraphs brilliantly written adding to Glokta‘s truisms .. 📖

Why didn‘t anyone tell me that Glokta was in other books besides the first three. I‘m starting to get into “A Little Hatred” and I‘m loving the characters and the connection to the other three books I just finished
Too many swear words, in my opinon. Sadly. I've heard good things about it.
Grimdark series with betrayal, hatred, black humor, and a ton of flawed characters. The black humor is the draw for me.

An excellent start to the final trilogy. It includes to rerun of many favorite characters, has some excellent new characters and a lot of great action. I look forward to continuing onto book 2. 5⭐️

This is one of those books where you don't really like any of the characters but still like the story. I enjoyed the cynical, darkly humorous portrayal of war and social uprisings that start with good intentions but turn into bloody messes where many rebels turn as bad as their oppressors. Fantasy set in a medieval technology society. Only fantastical elements are seers and magi who don't do anything magical in this book.

I am closing on my first ever house on Friday. I told myself - do not buy anything more that will just have to be packed up and moved. Yet here I am. . .

Oh! This would be so dope to win!

A bit weary of the mentioning of industrialisation, but I still trust Abercrombie to deliver once again. Let's see, if the age of machines and fantasy can mix.

🎧 So I just finished a second listen 😁 Yeahp ... this audiobook is my kinda book. I totally understand that I stand alone & I‘m ok with it! 😁 The narrator is fabulous! Morally gray characters in a grim dark fantasy. So well written for what it is. Loved it. On to Battle Ground, the latest Dresden Files book before The Trouble With Peace. I love James Marsters‘ voice. Needed some levity before some more hilarious grim dark. 🖤❣️🖤❣️🖤❣️

Funny pick for #Booked2020 #HeadCoveringOnCover 😁 As for the book, I like Abercrombie's series, but it seems that his every other novel differs very little from previous ones. There are new heroes in A Little Hatred, but they are just like his old characters, and old ones are the same as before. The world is evolving though, scenes of social upheavals are the most interesting moments of the book. @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

WOW have I been on the struggle bus with concentration. I‘m bribing myself into (finally!) grading papers with: Grade a paper, read a chapter, grade a paper, read a chapter. And I‘m not allowed to go to bed until I finish grading a certain number of papers. How are you combatting your quarantine issues?

I‘ve been looking forward to THIS bad boy for a long time 👊⚔️ And now‘s the perfect time for it. #quarantinereads

Well. The last readathon I tried was for @MrBook #litsypartyofone a couple weeks ago. I dutifully started my timer and my book. Read my first book and then got an unexpected family visit. I think by the time I remembered the timer it was about two days later. However this time I am stuck in bed in a cast so I‘ll try it again! (Never give up!). 🎧 Billed as book one in The Age of Madness trilogy but I believe it‘s all set in one world that includes two previous trilogies. This is not YA. The F word shows up within the first 30 seconds, there‘s significant blood, sex, violence and adult situations but it caught me as I love humor and there is a good collection of laughs! Awesome in audio as you hear the sarcasm! It feels a bit DND but maybe that‘s just me. I enjoyed it. A lot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/3

Guys, this was soooo good! Probably my favorite Joe Abercrombie book after the First Law trilogy.

1) Tagged. Also, reading Middlegame by Seanan McGuire, Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and listening to Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth.
2) Neither, thanks. 😊
3) This was no place for good intentions.
