Now that #BookSpin numbers are out, I can answer yesterday's #3books I plan to read this month:

Crow is my current read. A bit odd because I like the writing and I like the main character but it's just not grabbing me yet. I'm going to give it another 50 pages and see what happens.

Surfacing is my #BookSpin pick. Also #Quebec for #ReadCanada

Swan Song is my #DoubleSpin. I've got two with the same title so I'll go by mood!

Ok so.....I have no idea how I feel about this. It started off slow for me but I really got the humour in it and the author has the CB feel down. But then.....holy depressing shit. Followed by way more WTF than I had ever pictured this book to have. I mean....just....wow.

Definitely not something I would have grabbed on my own but not horrible. Many moments were had in this journey

About half way through and absolutely loving this book. The author really knows how to paint a picture of Cape Breton Island! I'm being told it's playtime now but I'mplanning to finish this tonight.

I loved the cover and thought the second half was much better and more big hearted than the first. It dragged quite a bit in places, but that could just be the big city in me. #lmpbc #groupx

@runswithscissors007 , @BookishTrish , @FantasyChick - #lmbc - I can't wait to get your thoughts on this book! I really enjoyed this novel by first time author Amy Spurway. The characters are gritty and true maritimers- I felt like they could be around my neighbourhood kitchen table.

@FantasyChick @BookishTrish @runswithscissors007 - what are your thoughts on hardcovers? I know they can be more expensive to ship.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ Good story although some of the sarcasm, trash talking, joint smoking, alcohol drinking, sex talking and doing all the time got a bit too much, too drawn out for me. 🤷 #CanLit

Beautiful! I went to the same high school as the author. Amy nails Cape Breton as only a Caper can. I was transported back to home by her writing. She made me homesick and immensely proud to be from that magnificent island.

The sky tonight was stunning.
