From the bestselling author of P.S. I LOVE YOU and LOVE, ROSIE, comes a tale of a woman who learns that sometimes it takes losing everything to truly find yourself... Since Sandy Shortt's childhood classmate disappeared twenty years ago, Sandy has been obsessed with missing things. Finding what is lost becomes her single-minded goal--from the lone sock that vanishes in the washing machine to the car keys she misplaced. It's no surprise, then, that Sandy's life's work becomes finding people who have vanished from their loved ones. Sandy's family is baffled and concerned by her increasing preoccupation. Her parents can't understand her compulsion, and she pushes them away further by losing herself in the work of tracking down these missing people. She gives up her life in order to offer a flicker of hope to devastated families...and escape the disappointments of her own. Jack Ruttle is one of those devastated people. It's been a year since his brother Donal vanished into thin air, and he has enlisted Sandy Shortt to find him. But before she is able to offer Jack the information he so desperately needs, Sandy goes missing too...and Jack now finds himself searching for his brother and the one woman who understood his pain. One minute Sandy is jogging through the park, the next, she can't figure out where she is. The path is obscured. Nothing is familiar. A clearing up ahead reveals a camp site, and it's there that Sandy discovers the impossible: she has inadvertently stumbled upon the place-- and people--she's been looking for all her life, a land where all the missing people go. A world away from her loved ones and the home she ran from for so long, Sandy soon resorts to her old habit again, searching. Though this time, she is desperately trying to find her way home...

It took me a long time to get through this, as it didn‘t draw me in. I‘m not sure I‘d recommend it. I gave it three stars. An interesting idea, but I just didn‘t care much about the characters.

This was a fine novel, but not at all what I was expecting, so it probably won't be memorable.

It was my #bookspin pick and my first #kidspickmybooks selection for January, so one more off the shelves!

I am obsessed with Douglas Adams‘ idea of a pen planet - where all unattended pens must vanish, so the blurb on this book caught my eye - review on litsy look OK so let‘s give it a go!

#AnglophileApril Day 21: The book that came to mind with #AnotherOneBitesTheDust. The images portray the trademark style of the artists and provide glimpses of unapologetic truths. Each line is illustrated by extremely talented artists who captured the spirit of what this book tries to do: raise consciousness and empower people to participate and take action. It reminds us to not shut our ears and simply move on. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-7Zw

"Everything in life has a place and when one thing moves, it must go somewhere else. Here is the place that all those things move to."

Oh! How I wish this place existed! You'll find this book incredibly enlightening and easy.

Some of my favorite authors from #Ireland and Northern Ireland. I've never visited either place, but I would love to someday. My father's ancestors came from Ireland so I've always been curious about it. #LiteraryLuck @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88

The protagonist's story ended but there are too many open questions in the end.

On an afternoon conference call when it turned but don't think I didn't celebrate w/ a quiet chair happy dance! Even though the numbers aren't why we're here, it's fun to see them because they represent each interaction & the fabulous people met in this special place! There truly is no place like Litsy! Mahalo to all of you for brightening my days, overloading my TBR stack & providing a safe & fun spot to geek out over books. You are the best! ❤️

Started reading my granddad's library book and couldn't put it down! I got up to chapter 35 and am on the lookout for it in local charity/thrift stores! 😄
