A review on the front said it was 'sharp, funny'. I don't think it was sharp but I did enjoy it, she had a good balance of the characters, their personalities shown without being too annoying (clever as one of the characters is very annoying). I enjoyed reading it and it was a good story :)

A bloody fantastic read! Set in 1937, Alice, a proud English woman who has her own opinions, marries the dashing American Bennett Van Cleve. She moves to Kentucky but finds her new life as stifling as her old. Until she meets Margery O'Hare and the Travelling Library.

A fab story which discusses race, female 'duty', womens rights and friendship. So good!

Tattooedteacher I do love this cover more than the one I read. 3y

Omens: A Cainsville Novel | Kelley Armstrong
Pickpick

The whole series is excellent!
Cue socialite Olivia who finds out her birth parents are convicted murders. She is thrown into a new world of paparazzi, stalkers and Cainsville; the town full of supernaturals. She is a reincarnation of an ancient story- one woman and her two loves. She reads omens in everything she does/sees.
A truly fantastic series- omens, visions, deception, betrayal and ritual. Well worth it!!

Stumbled across this author in my local library. Her book, the lost art of letter writing, was fantastic so I thought I'd best delve into her her world once more.
See you on the other side!

Spring Affair (UK) | Milly Johnson

A fan-fucking-tastic read. Elouise (Lou), a 35 year old woman who works in accounting with a selfish, self absorbed husband, begins to recognise that she is valued. He has affairs, belittles her and has crushed her self esteem over the 10 years of marriage. Then she finds an article in an old magazine about spring cleaning... and it all changes! 10/10

Only about 50 pages in but I am really hooked. 1880, a potential Jack the Ripper in Scotland and a 'disgraced' CID has been sent to solve the case. So far it's a pick from me- let's see how it progresses!

Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Cherry has a hidden talent. She can see things other people can't and she decided a long time ago to use this skill to help others. As far as the rest of the town is concern she is the kind-hearted young woman who owns the bakery but in private she uses her gift to add something to her cakes so that after one mouthful they start to feel better...

Just cannot get into this! I will return later, o see if it does take me. It sounds wonderful-

'remember it's all a game. What happens beyond this gate may frighten or excite you. But don't let any of it trick you'.

But it didn't hook me! 119 pages in and I'm stopping.
