entertaining but sloane pissed me off so bad. And so did emily in the beginning. like we get you‘re shy but stop being so pathetic
A book that really brought me back to my teen years and perfectly fills the ATY prompt: a book that reminded me of summer. Loved the ending and the relationships developed.

Since you‘ve been gone was an amazing book. It took me awhile to get into it, but once I did, I was hooked! It‘s a easy read and a little emotional in the end, but in a good way.
This one drug for me. The premise caught my attention but something was missing that left me wanting.
August Book 15/20 #LitsyLove
Went to Savers near my house today. Found so many great books, but I had to control myself so I just grabbed these 5. Buy 4 get 1 free could not be passed up. 🤓
I really liked the book. It has to be one of my favourites. It‘s about a girl who makes friends along trying to find her best friend, the book is filled with just a lot of fun summer stuff. It makes me happy:)
Finally got to the last of my April #BookSpin picks yesterday.
-#BookSpin: Since You‘ve Been Gone, a fun YA contemporary about summer and friendship 4.5⭐️
-#DoubleSpin: Grace, a decent read exploring grace (of course 😆) 3⭐️
-#TripleSpin: What Once Was Lost, a historical story following complications in a small Kansas town when the poor house burns down 3.5⭐️
I‘ve been looking forward to seeing the numbers for this month. Here‘s what I got:
-#BookSpin: Since You‘ve Been Gone (perfect for #YAApril)
-#DoubleSpin: Grace
-#TripleSpin: What Once Was Lost
I really LOVED this book! Definently 5/5 stars! I love how light and easy this book was. It made me feel everything Emily was feeling, like she was my best friend. And I absolutely loved the relationship between Frank & Emily. I loved how their was just a touch of romance at the end. Most books are too lovey dovey right away. And this one just floated. Loved it!
#songsofsummer #summertime @OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks This summery book is on my TBR list for June. Just looking at the cover makes me think of summertime.
5/5 stars. This book was cute, light, funny, and i loved it. I loved the idea of having a friend that writes a list and you have to cross that stuff off the list. Can‘t wait to meet up with my friend to discuss the book!
Now that my paper is finished, and i baked 7 carrot cakes layers, i can start reading! I‘m only on chapter 4 but I‘m 131 pages in! I‘m not used to long chapters!
Doing my first Buddy Read with this book! Super excited!
This cutesy summer story about Emily's best friend Sloane disappearing without a word and leaving behind nothing but a list of tasks for timid, shy Emily to complete should have been a sweet read but this was TAME. It's not like I wanted these kids to be doing crack cocaine but with tasks like apple picking and riding a horse on the list, this book wasn't indicative of real teenagers and ended up feeling shallow and unworthy of my attention.
SO SO SO CUTE! The relationships in this book are really what made it for me. Matson has the ability to make you truly care about the characters she writes. Frank was perfection in the shape of a teenage boy and I LOVE him!
Rated 5/5 on gr :)

It was such a good read! About a shy insecure girl and her journey to make new friends and memories and discover herself! I loved it and Morgams writing style is amazing
This was such a cute and fun read. Emily friend Sloan has pushed her out of her comfort zone by having her do things that she never thought she would do. But what is Emily to do when Sloane just disappears one day and a letter comes in the mail with 13 things that Sloane wants Emily to do over the summer. Some things are easy but some really push Emily. It was fun to see Emily do the task and make new friends over the summer. Cute YA book!
I loved this book! I actually liked The Unexpected Everything, a little more, but this was definitely a good read. A little laughter, tears, and heartache were evident when i was reading this. A YA contemporary perfect for a summer beach read.
Reading this book and loving it. I want to read all of Morgan Matson's books! Unexpected Everything is amazing, as well.
Since You‘ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson is a breezy, yet heartfelt tale of friendship and finding yourself. It‘s an easy read as the writing is effortless & conversational, plus you‘ll likely find yourself getting lost in Emily‘s many escapades as she strives to discover just what Sloane is trying to tell her through this list. In all, this novel is a fun summer read guaranteed to make you laugh and reminisce about crazy summers of the past.
I don‘t read many YA novels these days, but something about summertime makes me crave cute contemporary books. This was just want I was hoping for! I appreciated that the story focused more on friendship than on romance.
Our YA book club‘s #summerpick puts Kelly Clarkson‘s song in my head every time I read the title 😆 #booksandsunshine #poolside
This book has given me so many feels. I love the slow progression of the romance and I love how she finds herself in this book! The list and all of the playlists made the book even more special 😁
It took a while to get my attention, but the last 150 pages I couldn‘t put the book down.
Starting a new book 😊 I've fell behind my Goodreads goal by 2 so better pick up the pace 😂
Started this book late late last night! Excited to be reading it!:)
Super cute fun book. Even though I would have kicked Sloane‘s ass...
Much like Auntie Mame needed a little Christmas I need a little summer during this nor‘easter. #Firstdayofspring #popsugareadingchallenge2018 #bookwithsonglyricsinthetitle
I couldn‘t put this book down! Found it for $.25 at a local charity store! Really bought it for my younger sister but read it before her. I had to see if it was any good!...and it was!!!!!
This was recommended to me by a couple of teen girls. They will be so pleased that I finally read it. A wonderful tale of best friends who will be apart for the summer. It is wonderful. I am so, so thankful it wasn‘t another dystopian novel.
The pages with the soundtracks are definitely fillers, but the songs I like, so I ain't mad about it. I honestly didn't know what to expect with this book. Even though I didn't like the ending chapters, which felt all thrown together, I found myself not putting down this book because it made me feel so happy, in a way! 4/5⭐️
I enjoyed this one. It's young but fun. I liked the flashbacks and the journey the book brought you through.
I love the playlists throughout this book! Absolute brain fluff, bug it's nice to have something to go with it. 😁
At the beginning of this book I didn't think I'd continue reading it but I'm glad I stuck it out.
I loved the evolution of Emily. She really grew and found herself without Sloane guiding her or telling her what to do.
