I throw away all the dust jackets from my hardcovers.

#1KGiveaway

MatchlessMarie When my kid was younger if he saw dust jackets on books in his room he would remove them and throw them across the room 🤣 6y

Maybe I ordered something for me aswell... 😉💖😍

rubyslippersreads That is absolutely gorgeous! 😍😍😍 6y
Sophoclessweetheart I‘ve seen the Folio society free mystery book stickers a few times in Litsy now. What is that? Is the Folio society there different to the one in the U.K.? I‘ve never received a free mystery book with my orders lol 😹🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
LeahBergen Ooo, what is the mystery book this time? 6y

Sarah83 @rubyslippersreads the left one? Yes it is really great. 😍😉 6y
Sarah83 @Wanderingwithwords http://www.foliosociety.com this is one. The UK edition. Those mystery books appear from time to time. At the moment you receive one, if you order for more than 75£. 6y
Sarah83 @LeahBergen I got this one 'the reason why's by Cecil Woodham-Smith. Don't know if I like it or not. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07C5KJTTW/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524252319&... 6y
LeahBergen Well, it certainly has a beautiful cover! ❤️ 6y
Sarah83 @LeahBergen yes indeed, but the subject. 🤷 I was also a bit weird, as I thought, the mystery books are only novels. 😂 How is your roadtrip? 6y
LeahBergen @Sarah83 The trip has been wonderful so far (and I found another little something to add to your parcel 😄). 6y
Sophoclessweetheart Oh. How bizarre. I‘ve never heard anything about that. I buy from them often. 😹😹 Thank you for sharing x 6y
Sarah83 @Wanderingwithwords I saw it last year for the first time. 😉 6y
Sarah83 @LeahBergen sounds great. 😍 6y

So just a random thought, but how cool would it be if there was a service where you could print off a new just jacket for a book whose jacket had become dirty or torn?! #booknerdproblems #bookishproblems

AndreaReads Yes!!!!! 6y

1. Aside from books, maybe bookmarks. Oh, and half my life is spent collecting laundry. And sorting it. And washing and folding it. 😳
2. I like how a book looks with the dust jacket, so I usually leave it on.
#tripletuesday
3. Thriftbooks, BookDepository, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon

MelAnn Laundry 🤣 That‘s a good way to look at it ... and paying the sock tax to the dryer! 6y
MelAnn 🌹Thank you for participating! 6y
SilversReviews LOL on collecting laundry, etc. 6y
Bklover @MelAnn I‘ve definitely paid my share of sock tax! 6y

Well worth tracking down for those who like to judge books by their covers 😉 The book has two sections: a chronological overview of the period and a section that highlights individual artists, explaining what made each person's work distinctive. Can't wait to apply this knowledge on my next bookshop crawl 😁

OK last one. This was designed by Hans Tisdall. I love the wraparound design and the lush colours.

batsy Thanks for sharing some of these covers 😍 I need to get my hands on this book! 6y
rabbitprincess @batsy Yes! Seeing them in the book yourself is much better than seeing them through my old iPad camera 😁 6y

Susan Einzig illustrated this dust jacket, and it makes the book look awesome. I would totally buy it if I came across it.

Brian Cook's gorgeous cover of The English Castle, by Hugh Braun. Cook was later in demand to design travel posters. This is indeed reminiscent of the posters on British Library Crime Classics covers 😊

Tamra Love this big Book of covers! 6y
rabbitprincess @Tamra It is a lot of fun to browse through! 6y
LeahBergen It looks just like them! 6y
rabbitprincess @LeahBergen Yes! I would decorate my apartment in travel posters from this period if I had enough wall space 😂 6y

Saturday morning reading is this bad boy. Full of lovely dust jackets...and yes I'm adding books to the TBR as a result 😂

RidgewayGirl Are you judging books by their covers? 6y
rabbitprincess @RidgewayGirl Somewhat 😁 Most of the books I've added do have a short plot summary that convinced me to add them. 6y

#TBRtemptation post 1! Recently released. This is a #bookaboutbooks. A work of art. A coffee table set piece. This is wonderful! We wanted to bring this jewel home with us. Lavishly illustrated. It shows the evolution of the dust jacket, from its practical beginnings to its use as a marketing tool. Shown are the bibliophiles' fads and trends over time in conjunction with changing societal tastes. Marvelous! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

LeahBergen Want! 😍 6y
