Happy Limerick Day! #OnThisDay in 1812 Edward Lear was born in Middlesex. Often mistakenly credited with inventing the limerick, Lear popularized the form with his Book of Nonsense, containing around 100 of the short, humorous poems.
There was an Old Man with a beard,
who said, “It is just as I feared! –
Two Owls and a Hen,
four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!”

I love estate sales with large libraries since I collect vintage and antique office supplies and books. One last weekend didn't disappoint. Found these old index cards which appear to be for requesting books in your department. This old pen tip box is beautiful. Also picked up a box of old typewriter ribbon tins which will make super cool graphic storage containers in the office. Any other vintage book pickers out there?

tpixie 'A Book of Nonsense' sounds good!! 7y
