This could have been better by being leaner. That being said, I definitely enjoyed this sci-fi/mystery mash-up. [More-complete review may come.]

Can you have a cozy mystery in space, one set in a sentient space station populated by various alien species (who barely tolerate humans) where murder, mystery, military & political intrigue, the interconnections people share, & the potential destruction of everyone & everything combine in a cast-paced, entertaining story? Yes, yes you can. And this book is just that. Great world & characters, entertaining story. Cozy mystery in space. Who knew?
Finishing this up so I can start book 2 for an event I‘m hosting with the author on Tuesday. Using a reading sprint hosted by Read with Dr. B on YouTube to keep me on track.
That was fun! Mallory, became an amateur detective when suddenly she was always present during murders. She'd see connections that the actual investigators couldn't and because everyone suspected her of something. Then, one day, she found herself more or less kidnapped to an alien space station. It was a solution that worked for her, s
Until suddenly the alien intelligent station decided to allow humans to visit. Sure enough, more murders.
If you like weird aliens and humans with messed up personalities, murder and space stations….this is the book for you. Quirky.
WHAT. A. RIDE. Exceptionally engrossing and super stressful! Somewhere between sci fi action, murder mystery and domestic thriller. Lots of interpersonal drama in between interplanetary intrigue and political machinations. As with Six Wakes, author excels at creating complex characters with nuanced friction between them. Didn't see the big reveal coming! Pacing, multiple POVs, exposition & flashbacks all handled masterfully.
A unique method of confronting internalized negative scripts/self-image!
In this sci-fi mystery, Mallory has gone to live on a sentient space station after murders keep happening in her presence on earth. She solves them, too, but everyone is always suspicious of her. Anyway she has picked this station because there are no other humans there - but then humans arrive, and an alien is murdered. I enjoyed the story and the world building. I want to know what happens next!
I had high hopes for this book, as I had loved Six Wakes and the combination of sci-fi and murder mystery is right up my alley. The execution was a bit disappointing. However, I loved the alien characters and would be willing to give the next book in the series a try.

This was a fun, slightly zany space murder mystery. While I did enjoy it, the sheer number of characters and different points of view felt overwhelming and at times confusing. I kept thinking it might make a better movie as it would be easier to keep track of things visually. In spite of that quibble, I did like the mystery, the main characters and the imaginative world the author created and was worth my time. 3/5 stars,
Mallory attracts murder. She doesn't want to be the cause for people dying that's why she moves to Station Eternity, a space station where only one other human lives.
I liked the world-building, the other sentient beings on the station, and the mystery was quite interesting. I found the different POV a bit tricky sometimes because it took me a moment to figure out which head I was in.
3.5/5 stars

Here we go. I planned to read ARCs for #20in4 #readathon, but I picked a book from the top of #MountTBR.
😬
@Andrew65
Think Agatha Christie mystery on a spaceship for this one. The names are clever. The cast of characters is weirdly diverse.

Two library books - a fantasy, A Broken Blade, and a science fiction mystery, Station Eternity.
Two bought books -both monster romances by Katee Robert.
The Miss Marple style in space looks fun (tagged) what could possibly go wrong! 🤣🤣

Will I buy this book because it has a very cool cover designed by my favorite book cover artist Will Staehle? Almost certainly. I mean it also sounds really good—a detective solving murders on an alien space station—so I might just have to preorder it! 🛰🚀🔪🕵️♀️👽
