This book by southern writer Michael Lee West was published in 2008. Set in the Alabama Gulf Coast. My paperback version even includes some recipes for foods that were mentioned in the book.

Listening to the audiobook for The Water is Wide and reading The Year of Pleasures by Elizabeth Berg. #februaryreads

Started reading for book club in January. Finished the book on Jan. 18. I loved it! It‘s one of those books that I didn‘t exactly know what was going on most of the time, but I enjoyed it just the same. It reminded me of Mr. Penumbra‘s 24 Hour Bookstore and The Neverending Story.

Reading for November Book Club.

Reading for Book Club. Setting is an office supply store (Staples.) Roger is a middle-aged guy and Bethany is twenty-something. Roger leaves his diary in the break room, and Bethany reads it to find out that he is writing about her, so she writes him back. Interesting and quirky so far.

Reading for a book club meeting. Finished the book. I liked the twist at the end. Don't read any spoilers or you won't enjoy the book as much!

Laurie Halse Anderson‘s powerful memoir in verse form. Includes resources on sexual violence and mental health at the back of the book.

This was a different book than I expected. Plum Kettle has many struggles as she faces how other people treat fat people. I liked the parodies of Waist Watchers and the Baptist Diet Plan. Loved the supportive women at Calliope House.

About 1/3 of the way in. YA fiction about a girl who struggles with OCD. Not depressing though.

Recently listened to Faking Normal on audio. Had already read it once several years ago. We are going to have our freshmen read this book during Freshman Seminar. Such a good realistic book for teens to read.

Enjoying this inspirational memoir.

This book reminds me of Ready Player One, because there is a Warcross tournament and there is a virtual world. As stated on the book cover, you must read in order to find out about Emika Chen—player, hunter, hacker, pawn!

Listening to this book on audiobook. Recommended Young Adult fiction. Finished the book and also watched the movie. As expected, there are some differences between the book and movie, but I liked both.

Enjoying this novel by Gabrielle Zevin. There‘s even a Choose Your Own Adventure section!

Just started Sourdough. I loved Mr. Penumbra‘s 24-hour Bookstore, so looking forward to reading this one. 6/10/18 - finished the book. Like Mr. Penumbra, it is quirky, but I enjoy Robin Sloan‘s writing and originality.

This graphic novel version is a nice addition to the original novel.

This has been compared to Judy Blume‘s Forever, but I prefer the original. Nothing is left to the imagination, and this is marketed to young adults with characters who are seniors in high school.

Loved the book! It was so funny. Crowley was my favorite character.

Cory Doctorow & Wil Wheaton! Wil Wheaton narrates the audiobook & does a fantastic job!

I'm loving hearing Wil Wheaton read Ready Player One!
