Another novel that takes place in the South—this time at an old plantation home in Louisiana. Lou Ann “Lulu the Love Guru” is forced to take a break in her career to care for her mother who has been kicked out of her third care facility. A fun read. Free on Kindle for Amazon Prime members.

Started reading for book club in January. Finished the book on Jan. 18. I loved it! It‘s one of those books that I didn‘t exactly know what was going on most of the time, but I enjoyed it just the same. It reminded me of Mr. Penumbra‘s 24 Hour Bookstore and The Neverending Story.

Reading for Book Club. Setting is an office supply store (Staples.) Roger is a middle-aged guy and Bethany is twenty-something. Roger leaves his diary in the break room, and Bethany reads it to find out that he is writing about her, so she writes him back. Interesting and quirky so far.

This was a different book than I expected. Plum Kettle has many struggles as she faces how other people treat fat people. I liked the parodies of Waist Watchers and the Baptist Diet Plan. Loved the supportive women at Calliope House.

When Chaol was showing Celaena around the castle, they came to the Great Library. She asked Chaol why there were no guards at the library. “Guards are of no use in a library.” Oh, how wrong he was! Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”
