The timelines run opposite to each other, starting with Anna‘s story running backward from present to 1921, and Anastasia‘s story starting at the beginning of revolution in 1917 to the moment in question...did The Grand Duchess Anastasia survive the night the Romanov family was murdered? Historical fiction with a touch of mystery and intrigue! Characters were altogether imperfect and unlikable, but that‘s the fuel that keeps you reading!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I didn‘t like this retelling of Pride and Prejudice. There were some strange twists & things thrown in that just felt kinda icky. The characters were the same the throughout the book. I felt like there so little chemistry between Liz and Darcy too. Overall it was kind of entertaining to read. I still love me a good temporary romance of course but this one just didn‘t work quite well for me. ⭐️⭐️

I very much enjoyed this story of a brother and sister coming together after years to challenge their inner demons together. The art style of this #graphicnovel is so perfect for the atmosphere and storytelling. The best part is that all of the Northern Ontario references, like where I grew up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #canadianauthors #canada #northernontario #roughneck #jefflemire #books

The format and premise for this story is perfection! The characters were so amazing, so flawed and felt so real...like I know any rock stars in real life haha!! I loved the little twist at the end and just thought how beautiful is that! I just can‘t gush enough about this book and if you‘re wondering if it‘s worth all the hype, I definitely think so! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The perfect mix of nerve wracking suspense, scientific information and heart! I can‘t recommend this enough if you like true-crime or non-fiction that pulls at your heart strings & give you an appreciation for butterflies! The lengths & money that people continue to spend on illegal trade of endangered species is disgusting. I‘m a zoologist so this really hit some conservation heart strings for me. I won‘t be forgetting it anytime soon!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖#signaltonoise was a book I chose for the #readharder challenge and I loved that the author was also a Canadian🇨🇦! The story was very intriguing and I loved the magic! Meche was such an unlikable character...oh man! I haven‘t encountered too many main characters that I didn‘t like but she was just so selfish it drove me crazy! But the story was great and I loved going back between 1988 and 2009. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was sad and weird and real and magical and a whole lot of other feels! The very real world of women growing up in an isolated community in the far north. Then the story takes a turn into the spirit world of ancestors and magic of the Land. I was enthralled, and hung off every word. My over all feeling is Awe that anyone can string these words together and create the prose and poetry found in this book. Lovely and brutal all at once⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovethis world and the characters were so fantastically fae! Fairy stories aren‘t meant to be glittery and romantic and this one certainly wasn‘t!! At one point I was so in edge needing to know what was actually going to happen, it was like I couldn‘t read fast enough! Jude was so unlikable it was great! And Taryn was annoying as all heck! Cardan was all kinds of “it‘s complicated” and the rest of the fae were just cruel!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just finished my second book of the @24in48 #24in48 Readathon. I very much enjoyed this anthology of essays #readharder. The writers were so honest and opened themselves up to the reader, it was kind of humbling. As a woman who‘s made the choice to not have children this collection has given me a lot of food for thought. It‘s inspired me to try and write my own essay on my own decision, and reflect on how it will impact my future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This books was just Ok for me. It‘s hard to put my finger on exactly what bugged me about it, but I can tell you that what I did like was that it focused mostly on what women can actively do to minimize the gender biases in the workplace... and encourages men to help. I can‘t say that I‘ll pick up her other book, but I might check out a TedTalk. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was so beautifully written that it was sometimes hard to imagine the terrible things described in the pages. I understand why this book got the attention it did.The banning of DDT was a huge milestone in history but it‘s effects are still evident decades later, in ground water and bioaccumulated in food chains. How can we stop the barrage of chemicals that are still entering our ecosystems today? A lot of feels while reading this one⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Natasha.C.Barnes I read that book with my mom in middl school I think...it blew my mind. So sad. 6y

As a zoologist when I see things like this in books it makes me a little angry. Did the author purposely not check their animal info or are they trying to make the character relatable because people actually think these things about raccoons???

For the record: Raccoons are definitely NOT rodents. They are of the order Carnivora. Raccoons also do not hibernate and are active all winter long especially around people because there is always food!
