Rarely do nonfiction books make me feel something, but this did. Really captivating writing and stories.

My kid picked this out at the library, loved it, #recommended that I read it too. So cute! The story of a monster who is “weird” so he lives underground away from people. But then people each out and we have a happy ending with a great positive message. #bbrc #middlegrade also 1pt for #teamslaughter for #scarathlon

I loved it. I have found that I really enjoy a good drama, even better with multiple generations. There is so much depth here and I think it would make an excellent book club book. I can't say much without some spoilers but this book does an excellent job of exploring the effects of trauma over several generations. Is history destined to repeat itself? Are we doomed by our genes or is there a way to overcome? #recommended 🌟

An emotionally devastating story and one that needed to be told.

“Sometimes, Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning“

Tainted love and devastation. This thriller follows Nick's twisting journey as he searches for his wife and through her mind. This story explores the extent of revenge and manipulation by a brilliant writer in a brilliant novel.

This book starts with a pregnancy test and has a lot of twists and turns before a very satisfying end! It follows a daughter in a Duggar-like religious family and reminded me why I stopped watching that family years ago. It also made me question watching any kids that grow up on TV (Teen Mom, The Little Couple, all of TLC, etc.) I enjoyed the multiple perspectives. #Recommended 4.5⭐️

squirrelbrain I‘ve been meaning to read this for ages - it sounds fab! 3mo
Megabooks @squirrelbrain It is really good. I hope you enjoy it!! 3mo
essayareayaitch This has become my go to recommendation. Considering I've been recommended Night Circus to everyone since 2013, I don't recommend anything else unless they ask for another, or they've already read it. More people need to read Essie 3mo

Emilymdxn Go you smashing your goal and working through your backlog you‘re doing SO well 3mo
Megabooks @essayareayaitch I‘m always good with nonfiction recommendations, but fiction, I‘ve been recommending Station Eleven since it came out!! Now, my second favorite book is Convenience Store Woman, so I‘ve been saying that, too. You have to be careful where I live about book with religion and hypocrisy. 3mo
Megabooks @Emilymdxn Thank you so much!! 😊😊😊 How are you doing with your illness?? My cold is lingering, and I haven‘t been able to do much of the F part of the challenge! 3mo
Emilymdxn Feeling a lot better now thank you! Which is great cause I have another Very Full On weekend so being sick isn‘t really an option... I‘m so sorry yours is lingering those are the worst! Looking after yourself and taking it slow will help long term but I get it‘s shit now :( 3mo
essayareayaitch @Megabooks convenience store woman is on my TBR. I've got to finish Severance first. Which I'm sure once I find my groove will go by quickly, I just need my library to stop giving me books first 3mo
Megabooks @Emilymdxn I‘m glad you‘re feeling better! 💜 I don‘t think I have a fever today, but I still have all those “cold symptoms.” 👎🏻🤧 3mo
Megabooks @essayareayaitch Severance is on my TBR for booked 2019. We‘ll see when I can get to it. I have two library books I need to read next week! I hope you like convenience store woman. 3mo

????? I got this as an audiobook and I'm very glad I did bc it was a full cast. This book, oh this book. It was a true love story and a perfect example of "three sides to every story: mine, yours, and the truth." I simply LOVED THIS BOOK. #recommended

For the first time in forever I don't have any interpreting assignments and no translation deadlines looming, so this is the only thing I'll be doing today. Maybe with some ice cream thrown in later 😌 #reread #recommended
