This is a fresh take on the Pride and Prejudice story. I loved it. It was upbeat and fun.

cherinium I really enjoyed this one, too. I loved the Muslim perspective. 1w
BeaG @cherinium I agree. They way they incorporated their struggles etc was excellent. 1w

After a brush with death Helena decides it is time to be an active participant in her own life and leaves 1920‘s England for a year in France. She enrolls in an art school, makes true friends, and meets a handsome American journalist. Well-written, light historical fiction, I enjoyed this entire series of loosely connected books.

MrBook Niiice! Making awesome time! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 2w
Kdgordon88 This one has been sitting on my shelf for awhile now. I wasn‘t aware it was connected to other books. Might to move it closer to the top of the queue. 2w
Lynnsoprano I‘ve seen someone else post about this recently. Looks like my kind of thing. Must add to stack 2w
Andrew65 A great time, I need to read more by this author. 👏👏👏 2w

Mehso-so

The stories varied greatly in quality, as they often do in collections of this kind, but they included ones from a couple of authors I especially like: Andrew Pyper and Michael Redhill. I also enjoyed revisiting some of my favourite places in Toronto and would love to read other books in this Noir series from Akashic.

Total so far for the #MrBook1InAMillion #readathon: 7 hours and 5 minutes.

rwmg The series seems to be getting a lot of good attention recently, so I've wishlisted Amsterdam Noir, which LT says is the first 2w
kwmg40 @rwmg I‘d like to read that one too. I‘ve visited Amsterdam a couple of times and really like the city. 2w

Bk2 of my #MrBook1InAMillion #LitsyPartyOfOne #24B4Monday #readathon is done! While I did enjoy the story & the characters in this, I felt the ending was a bit rushed. It was one of those endings that felt like 5 chapters stuffed into 2(y‘all know what I mean)Still, it was not a bad way to spend a few hours. Hours stuck in bed coz my back decided today was a good day to lock up & go into spasm. Yay. At least I have plenty of reading material!

Lynnsoprano Oh, no! Hi hope it feels better soon. You‘re blowing everybody away with that reading time, tho. 😘 2w
Andrew65 Oh no!!! Just been through that with my wife who has had similar problems. 2w
Lizpixie @Lynnsoprano thanks! At least it gives me an excuse to do nothing but read, could do without the pain though😫 @Andrew65 I hope your wife is ok now, it sucks when it happens. It‘s not just the pain, though that‘s not fun, it‘s the being dependent on other people to do everything for you. It‘s demoralising. Thank god for reading. And the hubby. Him too😋 2w

Icecream break! I‘m about 3/4 finished with my 2nd book of my #MrBook1InAMillion #LitsyPartyOfOne #24B4Monday #readathon weekend. Phew, that‘s a mouthful. Definitely in cruising gear with my reading, don‘t know what to read next though. Should I stick with thrillers or switch it up again?🤔 Either way, I‘m going to enjoy my Salted Caramel & choc coated Hazelnuts icecream🍨

Ladyval05 I don‘t know what to recommend to read next, but I know that ice cream flavor sounds delicious! 🍦 2w
ljuliel That ice cream sure sounds good. And it sure looks like you‘ll easily get the 24 hours ! 2w
Andrew65 I always think the pace of thrillers or detective books is good for readathons. Impressive time as ever. 👏👏👏🙌👍😍 2w

Oops. I slept in just a bit(well, a lot)so I‘m only just starting today‘s section of #MrBook1InAMillion #24B4Monday #readathon & #LitsyPartyOfOne Kicking off with this rather battered library copy of Linwood Barclays 2nd novel about a violent home invasion that ends with an entire family dead. But what if the killers got the wrong house? I‘m sitting at just over 18hrs so far, let‘s see how many I can get today! #letsdothis

Andrew65 This was my first Barclay, and was totally hooked on him as an author ever since. 2w
Clwojick Oh, okay. Going to just go ahead and stack this one as well. Thank you. 😏 2w

Congratulations to @MrBook on his big milestone! I'm planning to join in the fun, with the #MrBook1InAMillion weekend readathon, hosted by #LitsyPartyOfOne and sponsored by #24B4Monday.

These are a few of the books on my current TBR stack that I plan to read, but I'm sure I'll get distracted by others along the way.

@Andrew65, @TheReadingMermaid @jb72

MrBook Thank you for joining in the fun 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗! Distractions are so easy, aren‘t they? 😆 2w
Andrew65 Good luck, some great book choices. 😊👍 2w

This book has been sitting sadly on the shelf for a while. Best of 2011 🤦‍♀️

A member of a reclusive family who lives in the mountains starts up a friendship with a teenager from town. Meanwhile the teenagers little sister starts up a friendship with the lady who owns the antique shop. I don‘t know where this is going but trigger warnings for child sexual abuse early on.

This was inspired by a real family from Nova Scotia (beware googling)

CoverToCoverGirl I thought it was well written - a disturbing but good read.. the true story version has been on my shelf for awhile just can‘t bring myself to read it yet (edited) 3w
