pickWow! I went into this fantasy completely blind and I wish the same for you so I‘m not going to say much. Just that it was great fun, remarkable world building and a fascinating cast of characters. Can‘t wait to read the next one when it comes out this fall.
pickPerfect way to end the year! I‘m a huge fan of this author and this is her first “adult” fantasy. I love Pearson‘s world building. It‘s a story we‘ve all heard before- a mortal in the world of Fae, but somehow this felt fresh and different. Tons of secrets and betrayals, a looming war, and fierce sisterhoods. Cannot wait for book 2! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

pickI obsessed over this read. The pages are beautiful. At first, I had qualms, as the narrative did not flow and some of the dialogue seemed a bit contrived. About half way through, I got hooked and could not put it down. The second of this series must come out soon! **Sorry for the image, they post sideways when I use my phone.
November's adult fantasy Owlcrate is here and it's absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors and design.
pickPearson makes the leap to writing fantasy for adults (she‘s an established author who typically writes YA fantasy) with this book about a mortal woman & a Fae kingdom on the brink of disaster. Much of the story, many of the characters, are familiar—you‘ve read this sort of story before—but it‘s well executed. Good writing makes up for occasionally clunky world building—maybe more fully realized in future books—& I found this to be a fun escape.

These special edition books are not easy to photograph if you want to show them in all their glory. Anyway, this one is just in and it‘s very pretty.
so-soAt one time, you could read any work which was a part of a series and still come away with an ending. The next book would pick up with a different quest or mystery. That time is no more. Now you read 500 pages and still don‘t get an ending. It dragged a bit in the middle but the opening and last pages were intense The characters were plentiful & interesting& the atmosphere immersive. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for a digital ARC.
