4 ⭐️ the story was truly sad and sweet. I didn‘t expect to feel so invested in the characters and their plight, but I was. The story focuses on a half Chinese boy brought to the states and auctioned off at the Worlds Fair. It follows his life both after the fair at the Tenderloin and his future self dealing with his wife‘s memories returning from their time in the Red Light District. This arc was given to my by netgalley for an honest review

4 ⭐️What an ending! I didn't see any of that coming. So many questions! I need the next one, stat. The beginning of the book took awhile to adjust to since the story bounced back and forth from 3 different queens in different parts of the island. Once you get a hang of the book and chapter flow the story is easier to fall into. One naturalist, one poisoner, and one elemental. Only 1 will get the crown. But everyone is out there betraying others

4 ⭐️ "It is not the type of love that ends"

Such a good story! I wasn't sure what to expect when the book opened heavy with God, church, and prayer. But it turned out to be such an amazing story of love, coping, family, and friends. Some parts were a bit cliche and I felt like not all fights end so easily. Still a great book, but subpar ending for me. I hate not knowing definitively what happens. Otherwise, a very good read!

All the freaking love to this book! 5 ⭐️
All the feels, all the emotion, all the love.
It is absolutely beautiful, funny, and heartbreaking in every good possible way. And it talks about books, tons and tons of books. This book deals with death, love, and life. It gives perspective and is honestly just so beautiful. The writing, imagery, and love is evident on every page. I will literally have to own this because I can't get enough!

4 ⭐️ A quick, easy, and entertaining read. As always Carswell and Cress are my favorites along with Wolf and Scarlet. So, it was nice to have them come into play. It took a bit for me to fall into the story, but I did end up really enjoying it. And now I really look forward to the next installment. 👍🏼

3 ⭐️ This story was incredibly long and drawn out for a tiny book. Full of long diatribes and unnecessary fluff. Aside from that it was a very interesting take on the Wicked Queen and her backstory. Good one-time quick read.

4 ⭐️ This book definitely took awhile for me to fall into, but once I did I really enjoyed it. I'm definitely looking forward to finding out what happens next! Abel from Earth and Noemi from Genesis are unlikely to be friends let alone embark on a journey and yet they do. Artificial Intelligence and a human in space together. Such an unlikely combo, but very well done ✅ 🙌🏼👌🏼

3.5 ⭐️the majority of the book I found myself annoyed with the billion POVs taking place. It didn't even get good till the last 100 pages. It was too many people telling the story without action. And I was into Safi's story in the first book and here her story fell flat. And Merick, ugh that story line really didn't do much for me either until the end. It was kind of disappointing, but at least Iseult and the Bloodwitch had an interesting story!

This book was a complete surprise! I went in not knowing much only a short description of two families pitted against each other and there was MAGIC involved! .....and a LOVE STORY! Umm YES! Also kind of like The Night Circus. 🙌🏼 Picture a magical Romeo and Juliet, but where that story has so many shortcomings, this fulfills them all. The Corbeaus and The Palomas are everything you need to make you believe in this beautifully written adventure.

This book was so so for me. I think it was just too many liberties with the characters and language use that did it in for me. Good ideas though and interesting plot line, just too many diversions for my taste. But I get it, a twisted tale, and it certainly was. 3 ⭐️

litmuggle I've owned this for a year and keep putting reading it off because of the reviews 😐 7y

2.5 /3 ⭐️ this book was difficult to get through. I'm probably the unpopular opinion, but honestly most of the time I was irked with the main character Elisabeth just being annoying and selfish. The whole book centers on her inability to care about others until it's almost too late. Also there were some pretty cringeworthy love scenes. Overall, the ending was redeeming and I kind of want to know what happens next, but I'm not dying to know either.

Forgot to post this!!! 5 ⭐️ just like all the books of this series. As always with this series there are simply no words to convey my absolute love for this book as well as her others. This book had my emotions all over the place, I can't even say how many times I cried then ugly cried and then laughed and laughed some more. This book has it all: action, adventure, love, surprises, and twists. Surprise surprise, I CANNOT WAIT for the next one

When you reread this and love it even more the second time. Is that even possible? This emotionally charged rollercoaster of a book was sheer greatness. Laughing and crying and gasping in pure disbelief. Sarah j Maas wrote this book to perfection. This series just goes above and beyond Throne of Glass' failures and love triangles and all the parts I hated to become such a well written and amazing series.

This is pretty much the story of Sleeping Beauty with all the back story and more retold and spun into a gripping adventure of two sisters who have fallen to fae tithes for certain traits being taken away and added. They are then thrust on great and different journeys. And I'll leave it there so as not to spoil anything. A little slow in the beginning, but it picks up! Keep with it! I'm looking forward to the second one!

This book was so so for me. It was an oversimplified/ more shallow version of Game of Thrones. I was highly underwhelmed and I'm not sure if I want to continue with the series. I didn't really connect with any of the characters until the very end so I guess I will be putting off the rest of this series for a little bit.

A quick and interesting take on some of Ursula's back story as well as how all the magical kingdoms are intertwined. Simple and different. It could have been more in depth, but it was more of a lighthearted read without many layers. I definitely plan to read the next one.

Pick pick pick! 5 ⭐️. I went into this book knowing nothing about it and was absolutely riveted. This book was all INTRIGUE! It kept me guessing and always surprised! I cannot say enough good things, except that you need to just read this. People die and their memories and body are Archived. There are people who protect them from escaping back to the world and now the system is failing! Of course a love story thrown in. Perfection!

So maybe I had too high of expectations for this book, but it was slightly underwhelming. There are so many good reviews of this book and I just don't understand the hype. It took me so long to drag myself through this book. It was overly descriptive and at times down right boring. There was too little of people doing and too much describing, it became so tedious. The ideas of the book 👌🏼 but overall I just could not wait to finish. However, I do plan to read the next one if that says anything, but I will not be rushing to do so.

This isn't a book I would recommend, but that's because of all the disturbing abuse. I was disgusted for a good chunk of this book, but that being said there was a great story of friendship to help even it out. However, this book was just too much for me. There were times I had goosebumps and tears from the sweet parts and then others where I was sick with disgust. At least there was a good ending. Just be forewarned it was very tough.

AliBG Like --does it go in the same category as A CHILD CALLED IT? I'm not reading that type of thing ever again. Misery porn, even if it has a "good" message 7y
Foreversweetserendipity I've never read that, but I just looked up the synopsis. So, there is bad abuse and mind games and it was truly just so awful and hard to read. And even though the ending made it a bit better I would never read it again. But then again there were some people who loved it. Based on the book you mentioned though I don't think you would like it. @AliBG 7y

Overall a pick, but definitely takes some perseverance to get through it. Very slow and I almost gave up a few times. The last 80 pages make it worth it. This is a time travel book and you would think exciting, but mostly it's boring and bland, until the end. The end kind of kicks you in the head, and makes you hopeful for the second book lol. Guess we will see if it follows through.

The characters were well written and the whole story was truly just so well done. Josh and Nastya have both had their fair share of bad things in life, but they have to find a way to live and be ok. To not be robbed by the hand they are dealt. It is an amazing heartfelt journey!

It was just so perfectly written and compelling. The narrative goes back and forth between Jude and Noah's perspective, twins, 1 gay and 1 straight and how their whole lives are changed from the different perspectives of one moment.
