You can listen to a short story which was published in The New Yorker this past July titled The Chartreuse written and read by Mona Awad, the author of new release We Love You, Bunny. I enjoyed it.

The snarky commentary of society dished up via one liners is very entertaining. The dry wit/satire hit just right for me. I definitely want to read A Terribly Nasty Business soon.

Extra enjoyable, as all are BRs. A close friend started reading the tagged book, and alerted me and two others how funny it is. I‘m halfway through and agree it is hilarious. Rereading Twilight for the 20th with a group on discord. Loving two chapters a day of Well Met with #LittensLoveRomance #weekendreads

An enjoyable reread for me. I remembered this is mentioned a few times in the Twilight series, and especially Heathcliff, so I wanted a refresher before rereading that for the 20th anniversary.

The second in the trilogy of prequels, this tells of Haymitch and why he is the way he is. I continue to enjoy this series.

Roary47 Wait there is going to be another one?! 😍 1mo
Sace I have not read any of the prequel books. The original trilogy felt complete to me, but I really want to know more about Haymitch so I will probably end up reading this at some point. 1mo
CogsOfEncouragement @Roary47 Oh. Am I wrong? Since you ask, now I‘m not sure. lol I thought that was the plan, and I felt like there was a bit of set-up in this one to give us the origin story of another particular character next. If I‘m wrong I‘d rather know now haha 1mo
CogsOfEncouragement @Sace I really enjoy Collin‘s voice. I read the Underland Chronicles with my son and adored that series too. Having more from her about characters from The Hunger Games sounded good to me. I was not disappointed. 1mo

I got to read a copy my daughter earned in a library summer reading program a dozen years ago (or so). I liked this one, Nancy and her friends seemed to have learned a thing or two and took more precautions for their safety, and are getting quite good at outsmarting the bad guys that would cause them harm. One would hope so by caper twenty-two. #NancyDrewBR

My world traveler friend just returned from a trip that included a visit to the oldest bookstore in the world, Livraria Bertrand, in Lisbon, Portugal. I‘m with @Librarybelle and also rate this a light pick. I always enjoy the #NancyDrewBR discussions of these iconic chapter books. I have more to say about this one and put my comments as spoilers below.

CogsOfEncouragement What I found kinda far fetched in this one was using a candle to search the attic. ND drove back and forth from the March's home a zillion times. She is even said to have run errands at one point. Girl, pick up a battery from your house or the store. Better yet, grab a camping lantern from your garage which we all know you have. 2mo
CogsOfEncouragement I love when Ned is around to take direction from ND and do just as she says. To have her back, and assist in the caper. Ned showed up out-of-nowhere just to save ND this time and that was a disappointment. George and Bess should have saved ND if the writer couldn't figure out how to have Ned in the plot. 2mo
dabbe 🩵🎯🎯🩵 for both of your points. 2mo
