How can so much thought be put into the cover but not the actual book itself? It was boring. All you got straight from the start was action. Action, drama, fight scenes, over and over and over again. Everything is surface level with absolutely no depth. Character development was poorly attempted or not done at all and world building was non existent. The story itself has promise but was not executed well at all which is so sad.

This book was entertaining enough for me to keep reading but had so many problems throughout. I don‘t think I ever ended up liking the main character and everything in the books was just so easy. Problems arose with easy fixes and ~mysteries~ were actually super predictable. The story itself had a lot of potential it just needed more work to make it into something great.

I finished this in a day so I must have liked it??? Hahaha. The story was addicting even if it did have its flaws and I‘m still excited for the next book.

I finally focused on this book and finished it. Once I actually tried to read it I really enjoyed it until about 80%. I felt the end was anticlimactic and kind of boring compared to the rest of the book but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series!

I hope you are all well and safe! I‘ve been distancing myself from social media as a way to decrease the anxiety in my life at this time. This series is one of my favorites though and you should definitely check it out!! (This is book 2 out of 3 🙂)

Pumpkinandegg313 Great series 💫. I've not long finished it. Definitely worth the read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 🙂 4y
Brittybuhh @Pumpkinandegg313 I‘ve read through the whole series twice already. 🤣 I really liked it! I‘ve been considering another reread 4y

This is somewhere between a 4.5 and a 5 for me (out of 5) Solely because I wasn‘t super invested until about halfway through the book. I knew I would come to love the story and characters but that didn‘t start happening until almost half way through. The second half of the book was captivating though and I never wanted to stop reading. I thought a lot of the twists were predictable but still enjoyable and I‘m excited for the next book.

INSIGHTS SO FAR —— Alright I‘m 275 pages in and I don‘t know how I‘m feeling? I guess a book that‘s 800 pages has to have some slow parts but I feel like the last 150 pages have been anti climactic while also moving along pretty quickly in the story. It‘s strange how so much seems to be happening while being a little boring at the same time 😅 I‘m also not really connected to characters yet. When will the good stuff get here 😭

I will never get tired of receiving bookish pins 😍

Professional_Book_Dragon Hello fellow owl crater! I Love it! You‘ve got a few I don‘t have. 4y
Brittybuhh I never skip a month 😅 I did one time over a year ago and I completely regretted it so now I refuse to ever skip a month. Even if I‘m not interested in the book I love my bookish items I get in every box! @Professional_Book_Dragon (edited) 4y
Alora This is so cool! I‘m going to have to start doing this! I started collecting pins in every place I travel to and pinning them on a cowboy hat I got in Nashville 4y
See All 8 Comments
Brittybuhh @Alora I want to make another one for my non bookish pins! But I probably won‘t until I have enough to fill a full hoop, they look a little weird when they‘re only half full lol. 4y
Vee_Bookish I really want to do this but first I need to start buying pins 😂 4y
Brittybuhh @Vee_Bookish I wish these types of pins in stores were a more common thing 😅 I‘m not a big fan of the round cheap ones but I do have a whole pin flag of those too 😂 4y
Vee_Bookish Etsy does have some amazing metal pins but the expense 😭 4y
Brittybuhh @Vee_Bookish my problem with Etsy is that I always want just 1 or 2 things from multiple sellers so then I have to pay shipping for each seller which adds up to more than the cost of the items I‘m buying 😂 4y

Somehow even better than the first. Still a bit confusing at times with the abstract name and words but the story is amazing. This wasn‘t like other second books where the story seems disconnected and slow, it was great beginning to end and I can‘t wait for the third!

Wicked Saints: A Novel | Emily A. Duncan

My one major complain with this book was all of the abstract names and made up words. There were so many names I couldnt even begin to try to pronounce and even when I did figure it out the pronunciation was forgotten immediately. Too much use of this makes a book seem more heavy in my mind and it gets confusing faster, but honestly it was such an amazing book that I don‘t even care that much.

Heartless | Marissa Meyer
Pickpick

This book is one big heartbreak. Knowing it is a spin on the queen of hearts (before AIW) you read with a constant state of dread knowing bad things will happen, for how else would the queen of hearts become a villain without a series of horrendous happenings to make her that way? The book was very good and the play on different characters was great, but that constant state of dread while only hoping something good will happen is very saddening.
