Hooked_on_books I‘ve heard this is an amazing book. But the abuse bit is why I won‘t be reading it. But I‘m really glad so many people are appreciating it! 1mo

BarbaraBB You finished it! 👍🏽 1mo
Kristy_K Good to know about the content warnings. I‘m on the fence about this one b/c sometimes that becomes too much for me. (edited) 1mo
jenniferw88 @Kristy_K, it's probably not for you then, as although I wasn't triggered, it definitely could for some people - I did find myself pausing it just after the tougher parts. I'm also pretty sure I've missed some triggers, but I think I've got the majority of the main ones listed here. 1mo

Leniverse Oh good. I think I might make this my non-fiction for March. 2mo
jenniferw88 @Leniverse, it's definitely interesting and frustrating - I learnt a lot about the Philippines, but it is hard-going in places because of the subject matter. 2mo

jenniferw88 @JenniferEgnor @Librarybelle, I think you'll get more out of it than I did - American history does affect me emotionally, but this book wasn't as impactful as I'd hoped (unlike tagged or Ibram X Kendi's work). 2mo
rockpools …and I‘m hoping my hold for this comes in today 🤞 2mo
