😌 Ah. How good it is to be done working.

#WhatShouldIReadNext

BethM That looks so awesome! 2y
GirlNamedJesse I LOVE this book so much! It was my absolute favorite of 2020 and I check Edelweiss daily to see if the arc for their new book is up yet. 😆 2y
Aims42 Cheers!! 🍷🍷 2y
ShyBookOwl @GirlNamedJesse I'm about a hundred pages in and I'm really enjoying it too. I'm so glad this exists. I have a trans nephew and I can't wait to recommend this to him! 2y

#Readathon #NutsInMay update
I'm about to finish refugee and I can't stand the cliff hangers, especially all the potential for drowning (my biggest fear). I need a feel good palette cleaner. #whatshouldireadnext?

mandarchy @Megabooks I'll have to see if my library has these, they look good. 3y

Amandajoy Have you read The House on the Cerulean Sea or We Ride Upon Sticks? Those have been two good palate cleansers for me recently. 3y
mandarchy @Amandajoy and @Megabooks good ideas. I found Nina Hill available. Put Mary Jane on hold. I'll keep all these suggestions handy. 3y
Prairiegirl_reading I‘m currently reading Rosaline Palmer takes the cake. I haven‘t laughed at a book that much in a long time. I‘m only about 1/3 done but it‘s light, cute, and funny. 3y
Prairiegirl_reading I thought that one was fun too. 3y
Megabooks Awesome! Enjoy! Abbi Waxman is always a fun palate cleanser. 3y
Zoe-h I just read Date Me, Bryson Keller and it is a heartwarming read! 3y
Erinsuereads Its not out until June first but if you can get your hands on one last stop by Casey mcquiston I'd highly recommend 3y
mandarchy @Prairiegirl_reading funny sounds really good. I'm 61% through Refugee and I'm not sure I can stand it much longer. @Zoe-h heartwarming would be a relief. I'm putting a curse on everyone who told me I should read Refugee! 3y
mandarchy @Megabooks Mary Jane arrived from the library the other day and I'm savoring it. What a fun read. I'm totally having memories of grocery stores in the '70s and the way people dressed. 3y
Megabooks Oh fantastic!! I‘m so glad you‘re enjoying it! 3y

I felt like entering into a new world, in a different era so old, so archaic and fascinating! Deeply researched and astonishingly documented, An Infinity of Little Hours was unlike any non-fiction books I have read before. I couldn't put it down! The story was told about the most austere and isolated monastic order in the western world, the Carthusian Monks. Ms. Nancy Maguire chronicled the life of five individuals from their 👇

thevagabondlawyer arrival at the Charterhouse in England in 1960s up to the time of their admittance or non-admittance to the Order. What was really going on inside the Charterhouse? What were the inner struggles of the novices? What did it take to be admitted to the Order? What did a Carthusian monk do every day? These were some of the questions so significant in this book. Of the five, only two made it to the solemn profession but only one remained to 👇 3y
thevagabondlawyer live a lifelong commitment of solitude and contemplation. Founded in 1084, the Carthusian monks still followed a 900 year-old tradition and defied any change or intrusion in their way of life. Thanks to an episode in #WhatShouldIReadNext by #AnneBogel where this book was mentioned, I immediately grabbed a copy and read it. I never even heard about Carthusians before! It was a whole new experience and remarkably worth my time. 👏📖 3y
Butterfinger Wonderful review. 3y

Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon has begun! Hour 1: First Up (8 am EST)
I started laying out different books to entice me. What do I pick first for #deweysapril #readathon ? Join in at deweysreadathon on Instagram or using their website, you can read as much or as little out of the 24 hours as you like! I'll probably be posting on my bookstagram or xposting here.

I want to read one of my BOTM picks next but I‘m not sure which one. 🤔 They‘re all so different!

#botm #whatshouldireadnext #fateofthefallen #kelkade #thesundownmotel #simonestjames #thetwolivesoflydiabird #josiesilver #beyondthepoint #clairegibson #botmstack

hes7 LOVED Beyond the Point and The Sun Down Motel. Fate of the Fallen is pretty good, too, but I haven‘t gotten to Lydia Bird yet. 4y
The_Heeler_Booklife Lydia Bird is so good. Definitely recommend. 4y
SunshineandSimiles I think I‘m leaning towards Sun Down because my book club is doing Two Lives in May. 4y

#whatshouldIreadnext is one of my favorite podcasts, so I was delighted to hear @annebogel narrate her own audiobook. This is a book I'm going to have own in print, too! I felt the frequent need to highlight, write my own margin notes and add stickies all over this book! The last chapter, especially resonated - the need to log my books competes with my need to be reading, Even as write this, I hear my current read calling my name!

I resisted this story because I have a teen daughter. It‘s very well written, and a fast, intriguing read. Suicide trigger but the perspective is different because the narrator is a group of young boys infatuated with the Lisbon girls. I thank @annebogel and the #whatshouldireadnext podcast for the recommendation. Without hearing how good it was I never would have read this. Check off V for the #litsyAtoZ challenge! @BookishMarginalia

I always liked the idea of liking poetry but I really struggle through written poetry, which is why I shied away from this book for so long. When I realized that my library had the audiobook, I remembered hearing on #WhatShouldIReadNext that the audio version is fantastic so I jumped at the opportunity - and I 100% agree! I loved listening to this story. Jacqueline Woodson herself reads it and I think it adds a whole nother level to it. Worth it!
