Well, it's that time of year again. When my reading time gets eaten up by my working most of the next next eight weeks without a break. 😳

But if any of you #MittenLittens are heading to #MiRF this season you'd better stop by the Crimson Chain Leatherworks booth and say hello. 😁

Bookwomble I've heard of Renaissance Fairs via US TV shows, though I'm not sure I really grasp what they're about or why they're seemingly something of an American institution. And those I've seen depicted seem to be medieval themed rather than Renaissance - can you enlighten a puzzled Briton as to what gives? 🤔 1w
Branwen Eeeee! I'm going on Saturday! Huzzah! I will certainly stop by and say hello! 😀 1w
GondorGirl @Bookwomble Okay. So. Imagine if a Brit who has never been to America decided to hold a Wild West festival. 😂 In all seriousness though, they ate sometimes renaissance, sometimes medieval, sometimes fantasy themed. There is usually very little actual history involved. Mostly, people wear costumes, watch themed performers, and drink overpriced mead. As a leatherworker they're where my money for the year is. 1w

GondorGirl @Branwen Awesome! I always love to meet other littens! We're down between the Mother Oak stage and the Washing Well Wenches. 1w
Bookwomble @GondorGirl Ok, no history per se, rather a fun excuse to dress up, eat drink and be merry! 😊👍🏻 1w
BethM @Bookwomble I think it depends where though. My state‘s ren faire incorporates a fair bit of history and is set in 1574 Elizabethan England. 1w
GondorGirl @BethM That's true. I've worked at some historically minded faires. I actually enjoy those a lot more. Most anymore seem to be less about history, more about making loads of money. 1w

This morning we went to the Ypsilanti Book Fair. It's a really cute little event that takes place in an old train station. I picked up a couple of books and a necklace (I'll post a picture later). Now we're heading to A2 for more book shopping and food. ❤📚

For any of my #MittenLittens the Ann Arbor Comic Arts Festival is a lot bigger then I expected. Rather then just a few events and a couple signings there are vendors, tons of artists, and multiple locations. It goes until 6 tonight and 12:30-4:30 on Sunday.

I love my library so much and am immensely proud to work there. 📚💕 This week they are flying the suffragette flag to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in Michigan! On June 10th, 1919, Michigan became the second state to ratify the ammendment! How freaking awesome is that?! 😍 #librarylove

🌄 or 🌅?
Sunsets....I‘m looking forward to the Michigan summer ones that are ahead over the next few months, and sunrises imply that I‘m a morning person, which is simply not the case!

HOTPock3tt I didn‘t know you lived in Michigan! I live in Waterford, MI 😎 #MittenLitten 4mo
Chelseabillups30 @HOTPock3tt, I was born in the Pontiac Area and lived in Waterford for the first few years of life until my dad got a new job in GR. 🙂 4mo

New-to-me books have been bought this afternoon!! A great end to a long and tiring Thursday.
Let me know what your take on these ones are if you‘ve read them!
Also, I know some people now are fellow #MittenLittens, y‘all love Schulers as much as I do?

Bookwomble I can only make out Still Alice on my tiny screen, which I haven't read, but which Mrs. Bookwomble has with her book club (mainly an excuse to drink gin, from what I can tell 🍸), and she says it's a fantastic book. 5mo
Chelseabillups30 @Bookwomble, that‘s good to know. I bought it once from ThriftBooks, but when it was delivered it was missing the first 45 pages!!! I‘ve heard all good things about the book and the movie. The other books listed are The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer, The Good Luck of Right Now By Matthew Quick, and Cloudstreet by Tim Winton. (edited) 5mo
Scochrane26 I loved the interestings. 5mo

CrowCAH That‘s a great place! Last year we did a Litsy meetup there! Gona host a meetup?! 😉 5mo
Chelseabillups30 @OrangeMooseReads, going to have to add you to the list of #mittenlittens who are ready to have a #mittenlittenmeetup in real life!! 5mo
Chelseabillups30 @CrowCAH, I really do want to host a #mittenlittenmeetup!!! Would love to have you join and help be one of the people who make it come to fruition!! 5mo
CrowCAH @Chelseabillups30 of course I‘ll come! (We‘ll have to make sure it‘s a day you/I are free!) With the weather getting warmer, driving out that way won‘t be bad. 5mo
