so-soI had mixed feelings about this. “Scattershot“ is definitely an appropriate title, because Taupin gets easily sidetracked in his storytelling, jumping from one anecdote to another without any clear transition. It's also very name-droppy, so if that bothers you, skip this.
On the other hand, it's obvious what a lyrical writer he is, and if you're a fan of his and Elton John (or music from that era in general), the stories are pretty interesting.
pickWith his well deserved induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, what a great time to learn from the man who is half of one of the most successful songwriting duos in history. Being able to travel through his life and inspirations, readers will find Taupin that has been a creative juggernaut and led a life of what great stories are made of. And it doesn't hurt that Taupin's skill as a lyricist makes him a hell of a memoir writer.

Not book related, but!!!! I'm still on cloud 9, and can't help myself! A good friend of mine ended up with an extra ticket to go see Sir Elton John last night, and she gave it to me! Amazing seats, amazing preformance, amazing experience. It was the best concert ever! I am beyond blessed to have gotten to see this legend before he ends his touring for good.
