I seem to be saving reviews to do in one batch so this is 1st of 3 and 7th of the inspector van veeteren series. More grumpy scandi police drama and it's definitely a genre in which i feel totally at home, not sure what that says 😂 Anyway a road accident triggers a string of crimes which need investigating. Our hero still semi retired gets drawn in to the hunt for the criminal. Very satisfying.

Check out this fun package!! Thank you so much, @LeslieO! I love it so much. You put a lot of thought and effort into this! I love it all, but I think my favorite gift is the Frank Lloyd Wright stickies. 💙💙💙 #mysterymessageswap

Thank you to @TheReadingMermaid for hosting!

LeslieO So glad you liked it. I got the FLW stickies at the Darwin Martin House in Buffalo. Hope you enjoy the books. It was so much fun figuring out what to stuff a book with! 1mo

WHAT!? I stayed up late to finish this last night and I am so mad. This was a crime novel that I was really enjoying (trigger warnings galore though) but I am so mad. These cops ☹️ they destroy the tapes left behind and let the bad guy continue sex trafficking young girls? It was 95% solid crime reading and 5% dumpster 🔥. I need to process, I wanted to read more of this series, but I am pissed. Terrible cops. 👎🏻👎🏻 WAY down on 20 pages/400.

All of the construction - seriously ALL of the construction - means that my commute is a bloody disaster. This means I‘m doing the multi-book-carry and that I‘m 3/4 way through this in 2 days. Glass half full (of coffee ☕️)

A satisfying read, a racy thriller.
The sex and violence are quite graphic though..

I rd book 9 in the inspector wisting series 1st + enjyd it, so when i saw that his latest had won the petrona prize i looked out for earlier bks, oddly this is bk 1 in English but bk 6 in the series! Anyway if you like scandi crime with grumpy police officers who are tenacious in working out troubling crimes similar to nesser and mankel id recommend. Ill definitely be reading more. Plot - Norway, a number of left feet wash ashore without bodies!

Cathythoughts Sounds good 👍🏻 😳 (edited) 2mo

Pickpick

It's a book between a pick and a so-so.
We meet bookseller Dido in the sixth installment of this series.
It's a nice story about one of her customers, who seems to be dead one day and because of her knowledge she should tell his lawyer, how much money you would get for his book collection, but there are several books missing.
And why doesn't the police work within this case but detectives for drugs?
A nice read. Up to the next book. 😊
