Chester's Back! | Melanie Watt

What do you do when you are in a school media center and Wi-Fi (which you need to do your work) goes out. Find a good book! Or two. Or three…

Most probably needed at least 20 pictures to do true justice to the magnificence of Chester. It is one place you truly need to visit to get the history and atmosphere of the place. As you can guess I love Chester. Chester and York are two historic cities that everyone needs to visit to soak up the history of the places.

How has Saturday been for you?

IamIamIam Incredible!!! I'm speechless!!! I'll definitely put that on my bucket list!! Today has been okay, cold and windy, but I've been crocheting PPE extenders for the nurses who are accepting the hearts. Lots of work but busy is better. 💜 Hope everyone has a great day!!! 4y
Andrew65 @IamIamIam Busy is definitely better! Less time to think does help. Hats off for all you are doing. 🎩 👏👏👏 Chester is most definitely worth a visit. 4y

BookwormM Lovely weather here nice walk in the morning and then spent the day reading in the garden. Hope you got some me time Andrew 4y
Andrew65 @BookwormM Yes thanks, not much reading time, but was listening to a replay of the cricket commentary on a 2005 Test Match, love listening to the radio cricket commentary in Summer. Strange though when you know the result. Sounds like you had a good day. 4y
TrishB Lovely Chester ❤️ read a book today and watching OMD concert (that I went too!) on YouTube. 4y
BookwormM I did and you remind me of my grandad he would always have the cricket on the radio 4y
CocoReads Beautiful pictures! I‘ve collected birthday gifts from my family for my girls and once one gets home from work, we‘re either going to the others house or she‘s coming here. Well do a take out dinner and they can open and then back to our hidey holes. It‘s sunny but chilly and I just woke up from a nap. Not too bad a day actually. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Chester looks beautiful. Hopefully I'll get to see it in person someday. Feeling snackish & wanderlusty today but otherwise I'm doing alright. Finishing up my weekly Zoom call with friends. It's funny how we really don't have anything new to talk about, but we still get together and just talk about food or grocery store experiences. I'm going to do a little cleaning then I'll look at European countries & homes for sale for no good reason. 😁 4y
Andrew65 @BookwormM It creates such a lovely atmosphere and love the chat! My only other main love alongside reading. 4y
Andrew65 @TrishB Good to revisit some of our recent positive experiences. Chester, York and Edinburgh would be amongst my favourite visits. 4y
Andrew65 @CocoReads That‘s what we are still missing, only allowed to mix with people from our own households and I think this will be extended for another three weeks, would make it weeks 7 - 9! Have a great birthday tea. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick It is just great to get to spend time with people, even if it is virtually. Makes all the difference and gives you something to look forwards to. 4y
CocoReads @Andrew65 we‘ve mostly been abiding by this too—I think Indiana has relaxed it a bit but we‘re still just doing driveway visits with family. This is a rare occasion to actually have someone in the house. Even though it‘s my own kid. She‘s been working from home since this started. We‘ve all been having to go out and work but we‘ve all taken precautions so we‘re pretty sure it‘s fine. Probably still won‘t be hugging or anything 4y
TrishB My Dad always used to listen to cricket on the radio! I used to think it had gone off as nothing happens in test cricket for ages 😁 4y
Andrew65 @CocoReads So sad isn‘t it! 😢 4y
Andrew65 @TrishB That‘s what I find so relaxing about it, a real delight. Don‘t think they‘ll be commentating on any this year. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @CocoReads I hope you and girls have a great evening! I wish my mom & grandmother were closer so I could see them this weekend, even if it was at a distance. 4y
CocoReads @IamIamIam those extenders are fantastic, one of our volunteers made us a bunch so I have 2 now and they are a big help. I don‘t use them everyday but some days the masks irritate everything and those are the days they come in handy. 4y
IamIamIam @Andrew65 @CocoReads I'm just happy to help! It all seems like such a small gesture but I know it matters and that's what makes it worth it! 💜 4y
kezzlou85 Beautiful city. Been reading and spent time outside with my girls. They were getting wet, Alfie our dog was having none of it so had to hide behind me. He doesn't like water. 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 I‘m the same, hate rain and snow, hate getting wet! 4y
kezzlou85 @Andrew65 me too hence why I was sat in the doorway nice and dry looking after the dog. Safest place to be. 4y
Birdsong28 It has been a good day. Spent most of it out in the garden. Love these pictures of Chester, I can't wait to go again 4y
Andrew65 @Birdsong28 That‘s great, the sun does help. (edited) 4y
TheSpineView Looks amazing! I would need at least a year to explore all these places! My day was good. Just chores and some gardening and getting some audiobook time in. 4y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView At least a year! Good to hear you‘ve had a good day. 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘ve taken 2 days away from all social media and news! I‘ve been catching up on #LitsyLove and watching Chicago PD and being lazy?? Beautiful photos!! I hope that you are safe and healthy 💙 4y
gradcat @Andrew65 Only ten hours late today—yay! While I did know about the historical beauty of York, I had not heard of Chester. It looks beautiful, and I think the next time I travel to Britain, I‘ll have to add Chester to the itinerary. Thanks for this...I really enjoyed it. ♥️ 4y
Velvetfur Such pretty pictures of Chester, thank you Andrew! Sorry this is a brief message, I'm starting to have a mild asthma attack, don't know the trigger but could be some pollen coming in through the open window (now closed!) or could be some damp in those clouds that have appeared. I'm off to do my inhaler anyway, love to you all! x 4y
Andrew65 @Velvetfur Hope the inhaler helps. 😊 4y
tracey38 Gorgeous place! I haven't been able to check in for the past few days, I'm sorry. Busy at work, then busy yesterday. But doing good. Shocked it's already Sunday. Doing some laundry and need to reply to some Litsy cards and want to get in some reading. But yesterday was filled with dripping off Mother's Day goodies for Mom and seeing my nieces, then braving the grocery again. 🤪 4y

Pickpick

My kids still love this series, witty and amusing. My daughter reads them again and again. Chester is a narcissist who takes over the author‘s work with a red marker and hides her supplies in the one place a cat like Chester would.
