Finished this a little early for #PemberLittens #JaneAdjacent so I could return it to the library today…

A 21st century woman is transported somehow into a 19th century woman‘s body. As a self-proclaimed lover of Jane Austen novels, you‘d think she‘d get some things right - decorum, social mores. Nope. Courtney/Jane is whiny and seems so clueless on some things it baffled me. Actions have consequences, and yet she doesn‘t quite grasp that. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Librarybelle ⬆️⬆️⬆️ I really did not like Courtney; I did have sympathy in the beginning - of course it would be disorienting to time travel! - but it‘s like she never really learned any lesson. The ending was rushed. I did appreciate Courtney‘s stance on leeches! Thanks for leading us through this one, @StayCurious !! Your daily posts helped a lot!!! 3mo
Librarybelle In her own way, Courtney married the #BestOfBothWorlds to adapt to life in the 19th century. I‘ll take that as a win to cover a prompt for #BBRC ! #YeahBaby @LibrarianRyan 3mo

New to audible and loving it 😍 great for busy lives!

Introduced to it by my wonderful dad I really thought it wasn‘t going to be for me . I have my hard copy for times when I‘m hands free and the audible for when I‘m doing housework and travelling in between clients for work!
With a busy life usually my read time is limited but I‘m Whizzing through 😁

#Eurovision2019 Hands down the best singers on the Eurovision stage🙌🏻 The Shalva Band withdrew from the competition when they discovered they would have to discrete the Sabbath. Producers wanted to allow them to have their dream recognized so they granted them a chance to preform last night on the Semifinals. Watch the clip #DareToDream https://youtu.be/EhRewe-uEIw
#StarTrekSummerMay #BestOfBothWorlds

Cinfhen The Shalva Band is a group of 8 young adults who each have a physical disability but that doesn‘t stop them from preforming and inspiring. 💕💕💕💕💕 (edited) 5y

Oh my, there needs to be a bookish discussion of the day, so here it is 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻: Do you prefer a book club where everyone reads the same book every month or their own books based on a theme? Any other options for a book club organizer to consider? #BookTalk

wendim I'd love the latter but I haven't found a bookclub willing to try it and my bookclub hates the books I pick. I have the worst luck in bookclubs. 7y
Smwfitz Great question and very timely for me as I'm putting together a book club for the first time. The latter approach sounds fun but I think I prefer the traditional style where everyone reads the same book. That's the only kind I've done, so maybe I shouldn't knock the diff book approach until I try it! (edited) 7y
CrowCAH Same book. 7y

Sharpeipup I've only ever been in a book club where everyone reads the same book...at least they were supposed to. 7y
LisaJo I, like most of the other comments, enjoy bookclub where everyone reads the same book. But if you think about it, since we all go to each book with who we are, we do really kind of read a different book. For our June meeting we're not actually going to read a book. We are going to discuss good summer reads. So, in a way, it's like all of us are reading a different book for this one meeting. #BestOfBothWorlds 7y
Prairiegirl_reading Every once in a while my book club will pick an author and everyone reads whichever title they choose. I like that but I wouldn't want to do that all the time. 7y
Lola I really like the discussion aspect of book clubs where everyone reads the same book but also like hearing about new books or books that have been on my radar in "any book" style clubs i.e. just show up and talk about what you're reading/have read recently. You can also form a book club around a challenge, like the @bookriot Read Harder groups where people talk about the books they're reading for different tasks/prompts. I love them all! ?❤️ 7y
MyNamesParadise Both are fine with me! Ideally it's a good book or an interesting theme though haha! 7y
Crinoline_Laphroaig In my small town I'd be happy to have either. Instead of the whole "she reads books" said in a condescending tone. ? 7y
Lea We do both. We have theme or author months and then we also have specific books. Keeps it fresh and allows for your own reading. I like specific books because it pushes me to read things I wouldn't otherwise. 7y
GatheringBooks in all my book clubs (i have three of them now here in singapore), it's always been same book for a given month. 7y
Lreads I wish a book club existed in my area! It's not uncommon to hear people say with pride that they don't read. Ugh. 7y
Ange44 We all read the same book. I love it because we all have very different taste, so it forces us to read out of our comfort zones. 7y
Rachel.Rencher I never thought of the theme idea, but I love that! 7y
SaturnDoo I have Never been in a book club because the ones here don't meet at times I can attend. They are all evenings when I am at work, weekends when I am at work or early afternoon when I am getting ready for work 😂 so from that I would be up for anything that fits my time schedule 7y
