Everyone deserves a second chance they say, I'm not always so sure. My ex-wife got her chance and burned me to the ground.

This is another favorite episode of TNG. Jonathan Frakes does a great job of differentiating his Commander Riker from his Lieutenant Riker. I'm just sorry that, except for an episode of DS9, we didn't get to see more of Thomas Riker.

Megabooks I‘m sorry about your ex! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Jonathan Frakes is a talented actor, but I like him even more as a director. He did a great job acting with Nana in the DS9 episode. That was also a good Sisko/Dukat episode. 6h
RamsFan1963 @Megabooks I didn't care for Sisko at first, then he shaved his head, grew the goatee and became a total badass, especially during the Dominion War when he would do anything to protect DS9 and defeat the Cardassian/Dominion alliance, even trick and betray allies. 6h
Megabooks He did improve. I think when they got the Defiant and found the Founders, the series turned around. The early episodes are fairly unimpressive. I generally watch more seasons 6 and 7 than others. Kira was my favorite character from the start, and I still think she‘s awesome! 6h

“I do what I do because of what fate has made me - not because I enjoy ‘matching wits‘ with the Batman! Fate has cursed me with duality - and I decided long ago that it is my ugly, evil side which dominates! Similarly, Batman's fate-given destiny is to oppose evil and ugliness. I act and he reacts! Let him come! I never run!!”

Megabooks Interesting choice. I think this would also work for #FaceoftheEnemy, which I did not choose. FotE is one of the best Troi episodes. @tournevis posted a lot of interesting trivia about #SecondChances on her page 8h

The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel | Diane Setterfield

I had a hard time thinking of any books I have read with doppelgangers in them (which is weird? why do all the books fly out of my brain when it's #startreksummermay time?), so instead have a book about twins? I haven't read it in a thousand years but I remember liking it.

Also, there has to be Trek novels about Thomas, right?

I haven't read the noir book set in a city of abandoned imaginary friends, but only because it isn't out yet. Seems like the main imaginary friend (the dino detective on the cover) will be nicer than TNG's Imaginary Friend!

Mae Jamison and Her Dream | HSP, Meish Goldish

TNG 6.24 #SecondChances, or as I call it Missed Chances. Riker finds himself a duplicate. Angst ensues. In the original script, Prime!Riker was to die and Nu!Riker take his place. By season 6 Riker suffered from First Officer Syndrome: FOs don‘t do much. But Berman killed the idea and Riker remained boring. The episode is more notable for transporter tech Lieutenant Palmer, played by real astronaut Mae Jamison! Love her!

#day21 #startreksummermay

Megabooks I didn‘t know that about Mae! You have the coolest trivia. I like the way they ended the Thomas Riker arc on DS9, though. 15h
Megabooks Oh, and I loved the NuWill/Deanna scavenger hunt. 15h
tournevis @Megabooks It was good to see him back on DS9, but it was such a crumby thing to do to the character. It seemed so much OOC.

The scavenger hunt was great and imagine the dynamic that would have emerged if they had stuck with the original plan!

tournevis @Megabooks Honestly, I know sooo muuuuch useless stuff about ST. It's unseemly. 14h

Highly Illogical Behavior | John Corey Whaley

I just started this great #StarTrekSummerMay / #MayMovieMagic tie-in

Solomon Reed hasn‘t left his house in years. Lisa Praytor wants to take him on as a project to give #SecondChances to return to school. But Solomon is wondering, “#WhereIsMyMind?” with his severe OCD and panic attacks. However, he has a secret place to escape, the holodeck, modeled on ST:TNG‘s no less, he built in his garage.

Cinfhen This sounds too YA for me but I‘ll be curious to hear your final thoughts 💖 1d
Megabooks @Cinfhen YA to me is like roasted turnips - I want it just a couple of times a year - and I can‘t convince anyone else in my family to try it! 😂😂 Whaley is one of the best YA authors out there. His books elevate the conversation a bit. 1d
Cinfhen Ha!! Love that analogy!!! Roasted turnips sounds good actually!!!!! 1d
rohit-sawant Loving this cover! 20h

Looking back through my library checkout history, I‘ve given this book more #SecondChances than any other. I think it‘s time to call it a bail!

Maybe I'm weird, but I never had any imaginary friends. I was fine keeping myself entertained, but I never felt the need to create imaginary playmates to join in.

I found the episode, Imaginary Friend, to be kind of lackluster, too neatly tied up with a talk from Picard to Isabella. Not much of a menace.

#StarTrekSummerMay #ImaginaryFriend @Megabooks

cobwebmoth I had imaginary friends as a kid, but they weren't very original. They were The Brady Bunch. I would make my mom set extra places at the table for Marsha and Greg.😄 2d
Megabooks @cobwebmoth That sounds like me! My imaginary friends were the Star Trek crew, and we were always doing obstacle courses. 🤷🏻‍♀️😁 2d
audraelizabeth I never had any either. I just usually read or played by myself. 1d
Reggie My dad took me to see the Sixth Sense one weekend when I was visiting from college. He told me that he related to that kid because when he was younger everyone thought he had an imaginary friend while he thought he had a real friend nobody could see. At first I thought he might be joking but he never said just kidding. He said the boy just one day never came back. 1d
