This odd chronicle didn‘t work for me until fully 50% through. And even then, it fell into the trap of too many characters and voices and too little plot convergence. My reading life changed forever after Interview, but this is a weak entry in the series.

Cinfhen Fun choice for the prompt!!!!!! 1y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen I can‘t believe I stuck to it ALL year! With QE II dying, I almost switched to one of the Windsor Royals biog / memoirs I have on my shelf. Considering how I felt about this book, maybe I should‘ve. LOL - I regret nothing. 1y
Cinfhen Famous last words “I regret nothing” 😂😂😘 1y

So, what does one read after reading Betty? If you‘re me, you immerse yourself in Faerieland 🧚🏻‍♀️
Thought not as good as her Folk of the Air series, this was still excellent and just the book I needed right now ♥️
ALSO! I believe this counts as a book about a #realorfictionalroyal for #booked2022 😁 Faerie kings and princes count, right? 😂

Cinfhen They sure do!!! Well played 🙌🏻💖 2y
Cinfhen Betty was amazing!! I tried to read this one right after but it didn‘t come close ( imho) 2y
CBee @Cinfhen I don‘t know how anything could come close to Betty. It was that good! 2y

27 of 2022. This was an in-depth account of how the Archduke‘s assassination led to WWI. It also discussed the relationships of the Archduke‘s family. I found it sad and unfair the way his wife Sophie was treated due to her lineage. Definitely worth reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bk5 of February & Bk1 of #FabulousFebruary #readathon is done! All 805pgs of it. I‘ve been eagerly waiting for this and it definitely didn‘t disappoint. Maas is my guilty pleasure, her books may be a little silly sometimes but I love em. And that ending! The only problem is now I have to wait another year for Bk3!😩 #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #PennyPerPage #Booked2022 #RealOrFictionalRoyal #Pop22 #ChunksterChallenge #PantoneChallenge2022

Completely adorable. Actor/writer/comedian David Walliams has really earned his crown as the much lauded ‘new Roald Dahl‘.
For me,he combines Dahl‘s whimsy and silliness (and fart joke level humor) with the world-building and cast of characters of a Nick Park animation (including Queen Vic!). This middle-grade comedy fantasy is the perfect story for any little reluctant reader. A joy!

KarenUK P.S. The full cast audio is packed with British acting Royalty and runs at a petite 5 hours. People probably thought I was crazy as I was laughing out loud driving to work! (edited) 2y
Cinfhen Sound like a lighthearted joy of an audio 🎧 2y
Megabooks Sounds really fun! There‘s nothing better than a well done full-cast recording! 2y
