Loved this so much ❤ Can't believe I only came across this book because I needed a book set in Oregon. Jade was just fab!

You know there‘s something going on, when I start excessive online shopping😬 It‘s my distraction from everything else....just bought 2 more titles from the Audible 2 for 1 sale ❣️Sale ends tonight!

BarbaraBB Have you finished your USA challenge yet? Of is this one for Minnesota? 4y
Cinfhen I finished my #ReadingUSA2020 challenge @BarbaraBB but I‘ve owned this book for over a year on Kindle so I‘m hoping the audio will encourage me to pick it up. I like having both book & audio options 😜 4y
BarbaraBB I do that to: combine print and audio. It‘s a good mix. 😀 4y

TrishB Ah, retail therapy! Always helps. 4y
Reviewsbylola My friend‘s sister is J Ryan Stradal‘s partner so we were able to read his book for book club and zoom with him. It was so fun! He seems like a cool guy. 4y

Wow!!! I was hoping we would have found an answer to the disappearance of Maura Murray but instead so many MORE questions. I just devoured this book. Journalist James Renner does a great job of laying out all the theories, players, facts and red herrings. Although his narration was a bit robotic, I came to appreciate his reading and quirkiness. Plus his own personal family history ....whoa 😱
And with this book I‘ve completed #ReadingUSA2020 👇🏼

Cinfhen I‘m pretty sure I picked up this book after a review by @reviewsbylola
Thanks, Steph ♥️ I‘d love to discuss
Have you read this @Megabooks it‘s REALLY GOOD
4y
Megabooks Thanks for the rec! Missing person books scare me! 😱😱 4y
Reviewsbylola I loved this one! But yeah, wtf happened to her?! 4y
Cinfhen Something bad was up with that dad. I think she staged her own disappearance. Up until the epilogue I thought she was alive but now I wonder if the boyfriend killed her. I think she was pregnant and the $4000 was for an abortion or maybe money to help her hide @Reviewsbylola Maura was actually a hot mess. 4y
Cinfhen Then you should definitely skip this one @Megabooks but it was a lot of crazzzy-ness that made for a great listen (edited) 4y

This book was ROUGH!!!So much heartbreak, yet always a glimmer of hope. The title so jarring, because for too many this dangerous messy life may be “ordinary” and that‘s the sad truth. Jaqui shares her story with such vivid honesty, that every painful memory became seared into my mind. The writing is stunning, the story devastating.👇🏽

Cinfhen Jumpy timeline didn‘t work for me on audio. Switching to print was a smoother read.
Loads of trigger warnings and an unending amount of pain, abuse, neglect, mental illness, violence but FRIENDSHIP, always friendship.

Megabooks Thanks for the tag. This sounds too heavy for me right now. 4y
Hooked_on_books I agree about the audio. That‘s the one aspect of the book I struggled with. You know, other than the emotionally devastating content. 4y

Cinfhen I had bought the ebook on a #KindleDeal a few months ago @Hooked_on_books so I was happy to have that option. It‘s SUPER HEAVY @Megabooks and I would wait 💜 4y
TheAromaofBooks Sounds intense!! 4y
Cinfhen It was @TheAromaofBooks but I‘m glad I read it, and that‘s another book off my TBR 🤓🥳 4y

I decided to switch to the print format. This book jumps chronologically and it wasn‘t working for me in the audio. Now, with the visual breaks the storytelling feels more harmonious, although this is NOT a pretty story💔#ReadingUSA2020 #PuertoRico #DoubleSpin

I‘ve got one state (NH) plus PR to complete my #ReadingUSA2020 ♥️🤍💙
Goal is to finish before the end of July 🎉

JennyM Wow...that is amazing reading! 👍👏😘 4y
Cinfhen It was much easier than I thought @JennyM only a handful of books I actively set out to read for a specific state. 4y
Megabooks Wow! You are the #challengeguru!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 4y

Cinfhen Haha 😂 thanks @Megabooks a very useful title 😘😘 4y
squirrelbrain Woah, that didn‘t take long! 👍😘 4y
Cinfhen I know!!!! I was pleasantly surprised @squirrelbrain #ReadingEurope2020 is proving more challenging 😜 4y
Librarybelle That‘s incredible! 4y
KarenUK Wow! Didn‘t you only just start this?!!! 😂 4y
Scochrane26 That‘s impressive! I‘ve been going slowly w/ mine because my main goal this yr is to read books I own. So, I haven‘t searched out books for each state. Think I‘ve got about 15 done. 4y
Cinfhen I‘ve mostly read books I own and I‘ve used my library services and subscription services to borrow books @Scochrane26 @KarenUK I wasn‘t planning on this challenge but when I started going through all the books I read since January I discovered I had already “visited”more than 30 states. I did purchase a kindle book for 99 cents for South Dakota 😂 4y
Cinfhen Thanks @Librarybelle if only #ReadingEurope2020 could be as simple. I‘m not enjoying my European reads as much as I did for most of the US states. I‘m finding a lot of the European books are set around wars & conflicts 🥺 4y
Reviewsbylola Wow!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 4y
marleed I ReadTheUSA2020 with a priority on my physical TBR. It was a fun way to get through my physical books. I read the 50 states and DC but really want to read Puerto Rico. I can‘t stop tracking my states though. I know I read a pile of books set in NY but now as I compare to other states it‘s getting a bit ridiculous that my armchair always finds its way back there! 4y

I‘d say this book is #LitLite
There is nothing WOW or outstanding about this story but it‘s still a pleasant read with some meaty parts. I thought the setting & place, #Louisiana really did shine through and I enjoyed being transported down south. The narration helped to enhance the author‘s prose. Book was better than I was expecting.

I thought this book was really clever but after awhile it started to drag for me. I REALLY LOVED all the Yiddish expressions ( it was like listening to my Zaide (grandfather) which made my heart melt. The mystery was solid too. Not sure if this will appeal to everyone but it was a pick for me. #BorrowNotBuy #ReadingUSA2020 #Alaska

Cortg I haven‘t read this one yet, but I‘ve read several other books by him and have loved them. I wasn‘t a fan of his most recent, MoonGlow though. 4y
Cinfhen I really loved MoonGlow but for the same reason I found this book endearing @Cortg I loved the grandfather in 4y
Cinfhen BTW @Cortg @Centique and @britt_brooke weren‘t fans of Moonglow, either 4y
Cortg I DID love the grandfather in MoonGlow! He reminded me of my grandfather, such a passion for life. 4y
