#MarchIntoOz #NoLies So many book premises rely on Lies!

#MarchIntoOz #NoLies 🙊I'd be lying if I said there were no lies (or books with lie, lies or lying in the title) on my bookshelves. Here are nine of them--I've read all but two (the tagged book & The Lying Game by Ruth Ware). And no lies--four of the nine are by one of my favorite mystery-thriller authors, J.T. Ellison.

DebBates101 I luv JT Ellison! You have a good stack there ☺️📖 2y

#marchintooz #nolies. I‘ve seen the movie now I have to read the book. In the movie at first you think you know the truth but then you‘re not sure? It‘s kinda scary and weird- I hope the book is as good or better. Fingers crossed 🤞

sisilia I‘m going to start this soon 2y
Dragon Thanks @sisilia I‘ve just started it tonight but I‘m thinking it might be scary so maybe I should put it down and start again tomorrow morning. 👍🐉 2y
batsy Looking forward to seeing what you think. I can't wait to watch it on Netflix (sadly). From what I've heard the movie differs from the book in some ways, but that it is its own kind of special. 2y

Dragon Thanks @batsy I‘m about a third of the way through the book and it is almost completely different. So far I wouldn‘t have guessed that movie was based on this book. I hope you have a big screen tv because the movie has some very interesting visuals. 😀🐉 2y
Cinfhen Cool, can‘t decide if I should read book first or watch movie #booknerdproblems 2y
Soubhiville I really didn‘t like the book, but the movie looks pretty cool. I‘ll probably wait to watch it at home too @batsy 2y
batsy @Soubhiville I'd love to watch it on the big screen because as @Dragon says I think the visual effects will be stunning. But in this part of the world it's not coming to the theaters, going straight to Netflix :( 2y
Soubhiville @bats ah, I see. I just don‘t go to the theater that often. I don‘t mind paying for tickets, but the $4 bottle of water and refreshments prices make me angry. 2y
Dragon Thanks @Cinfhen usually I try and read the book first but in this case I didn‘t. The movie is so different that I‘m finding it an extra layer to try and figure out why the filmmakers made the changes 🌿 2y
Dragon Thanks @batsy @Soubhiville I‘m at the halfway point and the book and the movie are still completely divergent. It‘s interesting to try and figure out the screenwriter‘s intentions. Very interested in your opinions of the movie. 🌿 2y
batsy @Soubhiville I hear you, it's the same here and the cost is ridiculous. 2y
Cinfhen I‘ll be curious to hear your thoughts after u finish the book as to which you preferred... 2y
Dragon Thanks @Cinfhen I‘ll let you know 👍😀🐉 2y
Rachellynnwright The director said that instead of trying to adapt the book he adapted a dream version he had of the book 2y
Dragon Thanks @Rachellynnwright that explains a lot actually. 👍🤔🐉 2y

No use telling this man anything but the truth cos #nolies get past Hercule Poirot. But in this book, oh how they do try!

Sorry @Kalalalatja I had a very similar idea to you!

#marchintooz #nolies

Dragon Great choice! Love ❤️ Hercule Poirot 2y
Cinfhen I just watched another Poirot movie 2y
Centique @Cinfhen did you watch the most recent one? The scenery was beautiful 😍 2y
Kalalalatja Great minds think alike 😉 2y
Cinfhen Yes, really beautiful @Centique I watched the film on the plane ride...it was a little slow but I was a pretty captive audience 😉 2y

An unflinching collection of letters from a wife to her husband chronicling her son‘s life leading up to and following his attack on his fellow high school students #nolies #marchintooz @Cinfhen @Lizpixie

LeeRHarry This is one of my most memorable books 2y
ephemeralwaltz ugh I have to say I bailed on this one. Wasn't enjoying how it was written at all. 2y
DebBates101 I thought it was really really good. It was raw and honest. I read it several years ago—might need to revisit 2y

Coleen I actually didn‘t care for the book, but enjoyed the movie recently. 2y
kelseynicburke @Coleen I haven‘t actually seen the movie but I‘ll have to check it out sometime 2y
Stacypatrice @kelseynicburke - I‘m finishing this up now. I despise that boy. And the father is an idiot. 2y
Cinfhen Same @LeeRHarry such a gripping story... 2y

#NoLies Confession time. I have hundreds and hundreds of unread books on my shelves, including about 90% of the books pictured on these shelves. I will not apologize for the size of my TBR 🤣 #MarchIntoOz

dsfisher Bookish Rule #8. Never apologize for TBR shelves and/stacks 😂 2y
rubyslippersreads I'm glad I'm not the only one. 😄 2y
AmyG Wow! 2y

llwheeler Same here, literally hundreds. At last count I'd read about 40% of the books i own. It's all good 😊 2y
aschermetz Wowza!!! 😳 2y
Melissa_J @dsfisher @rubyslippersreads @llwheeler I‘m very happy that I have all of you Littens because nobody else understands LOL 2y
Melissa_J @AmyG @aschermetz some people buy shoes, I buy lots of books 😉 2y
AmyG Hahaha. I say that to my husband all the time. He should be thankful I don‘t buy bags or shoes. ;) (edited) 2y
Alfoster And books never go out of style like shoes do! And they don‘t hurt your feet!😍 2y
RebelReader I have hundreds I haven‘t read either and they keep on coming! 😄 I don‘t buy expensive shoes or bags either and Mark and I share a closet and it‘s not a walk-in either. Luckily, he never complains about the piles and bookshelves full of books! One of the reasons we‘re still together! ❤️❤️❤️ 2y
LeahBergen Oh, don‘t feel bad... I think I‘m worse. My husband says, “It‘s not a good library if you‘ve read everything in it”. I‘m all for browsing my own shelves. 😆 2y
Chrissyreadit Me too! And many books I read so long ago I want to reread! 2y
FantasyChick My bf recently made a comment about the amount of books I own. You should have seen his face when I told him I haven't even read 1/4 of them ? We didn't even get into the ebook number. I'm happy he's good about it or we would never last lol. Side note....I also have a ridiculous shoe collection. "Our" closet needs to be bigger ? 2y
Cinfhen That‘s a beautiful picture #shelfenvy 💚🙌🏻😀 2y
Lizpixie There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!👍 2y
Melissa_J @RebelReader @LeahBergen @FantasyChick @chrissyreadit There needs to be some kind of convention for extreme TBR pile owners. We can all get together and talk about the books we haven‘t read yet 😉 2y
PirateJenny hey, I have a TBR apartment. I feel ya! 2y
Chrissyreadit @PirateJenny that‘s funny! 2y
Chrissyreadit @Melissa_J yes- plus one never knows what kind of reading mood one will be in. Or if there is a topic to learn more about, or if a random buddy read will pop up on litsy and I can say- I have that book, might as well join in! 2y

Middlemarch (Revised) | George Eliot

#nolies I impulsively bought Middlemarch yesterday to plan yet another buddy read (in the second part of the year I‘m thinking.) I obviously have a problem but I‘ve always wanted to read this. Buddy reads/readalongs are the best way to encourage myself to tackle the books I‘ve always been meaning to read that I‘ve put off. Usually those extra large chunksters. #marchintooz

Tove_Reads Let me know when it happens! On my TBR-but-will-not-happen-on-my-own. 2y
rubyslippersreads I've always wanted to read this too, so please keep me posted about the buddy read. 😊 2y
LeahBergen I really enjoyed it. ❤️ 2y

rubyslippersreads @AmyG @Centique As an adult, it's still one of my comfort books. 😊 2y
AmyG I should read this again for #Booked2018 2y
ValerieAndBooks I loved this as a kid — recently read it again as an adult, and my perspective really changed! Still think it‘s a good book! 2y
ValerieAndBooks Another thought.. I think I remember you said that even though you loved it as a kid, your mom didn‘t?? 2y
rubyslippersreads @ValerieAndBooks That's right. 😊 And as an adult, I can see why. It's just a comfort book for me because I loved it so much as a kid. 2y
ValerieAndBooks I know what you mean. Sport and Ole Golly and all that, like old friends. 2y
BookNAround I loved this one and even created my own notebook for a while after I read it. 2y
tpixie I loved it too as a child. It does read differently as an adult. So I wonder does that mean our intentions are different as children? As a child, I found her spying so cool. As an adult, more hurtful. Hmm... @ValerieAndBooks @rubyslippersreads (edited) 2y
