Oval | Elvia Wilk

This book is a disaster story waiting to happen. Set in Berlin in a very near future, where people live their life and are suffering of FOMO, where companies pretend to be all focussed on an eco-friendly world. Where artists are consultants, where the streets are filled with the homeless. The Oval pill is just another innovation, another drug, another nothing. This is the story of Anja and it‘s a good one. #ToB2020

zezeki I've been seeing this book lately on Litsy, and I'm really liking this cover. 15h

MrBook Interesting! 😁 14h
Hooked_on_books I love a weird dystopia, so this might be perfect for me. And I also love the trippy cover. 13h
BarbaraTheBibliophage Unique pick! 13h
readordierachel I tried this a while back but it didn't grab me for some reason. Your review makes me want to pick it up again. 10h
Cinfhen Cool 😎 great review/ totally intrigued but don‘t think it‘s my type of book 🤷🏼‍♀️❣️ 8h
BarbaraBB @readordierachel We mostly agree on books but if it didn‘t grab you the first time, I wouldn‘t try again 🤓. Same goes for you @Cinfhen, I think you‘re right about it not being your type of book! 😘 7h
Megabooks I‘m going to finish this soon! I can‘t tell yet if it‘s a pick or so-so, but it‘s definitely interesting and unique!! 6h
batsy This one and Optic Nerve are definitely two of the TOB picks that intrigue me most! Glad you liked it; it's on my TBR. 5h
BarbaraBB @batsy Optic Nerve is eyeing me too! 5h
BarbaraBB @Megabooks That‘s why I decided for a pick in the end! 5h

This will be my first read in the readathon this weekend. (Probably my only read - I'm a slow reader.) What kind of timer do you all use to keep track of your progress during readathons?

Suet624 Hmmm...I didn‘t know about this book. 3mo

Time for the bookish discussion question of the day 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! Here it is: Do you read at night before going to sleep, in the morning when you get up, or both? #MrBook

Graywacke That‘s most of my reading time...both 1y
CocoReads Both, definitely. And in my lunch break if I can manage it, which is rare. My new co-workers are social so we tend to lunch as a herd. 1y
Leftcoastzen Both and anytime I can squeeze it in. 1y
See All 27 Comments
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Both. Anytime I can really. 1y
AmberWB Definitely before bed. I wish I could in the morning, but I am getting up before 5 just to get to work. 1y
teebe Never in the morning. Too busy / tired. 1y
MicheleinPhilly Both. I used to watch GMA during the week but decided that reading in the morning was better for my mental health. 1y
xicanti Both. I read over breakfast, then again over lunch (which can be tricky if people try to talk to me), and again before bed, with additional reading sessions squished in whenever I've got a bit of spare time. 1y
megnews Both 1y
jb72 Both. I pretty much read whenever I want to. 1y
a.bookish.byrd Both, every single day :) 1y
kspenmoll Before bed always. 1y
JulAnna At night, before sleep 🤓 1y
Pamwurtzler At night! 1y
Blaire Both! 1y
Gissy Both! I don't have too much time to read so when I can, I stay up reading through the night on weekends 1y
tammysue Both! 1y
rwmg When I first get up tends to be social media. Books at lunchtime and in the evening. 1y
Lcsmcat Both. And at lunch. 1y
rdkate Both, anytime I can! 1y
Dragon Anytime , anyplace! 1y
zzz A.m. only on weekends, nightly every night 😊 1y
Shvonne Mostly before bed. I read in the mornings if I have the day off or am working an afternoon shift 1y
UwannaPublishme Both! 🤓📚 1y
andreadmw Every evening, and I love starting my weekend off by waking up and reading in bed. 1y
dragondrool Always at bedtime. Also in the morning on days off and weekends. Plus during the night if I can't sleep. 1y

I went to the library to pick up ONE hold that came in yesterday. The rest are from my Litsy TBR...therefore I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE!! Those are the rules, right? #blameitonlitsy #libraryhaul

britt_brooke Littens = Enablers (of the best kind) 2y
cathysaid That's my defense! 2y
Soubhiville Yes, those are the rules. Also, library=Free=no guilt! 2y

Back at the University's Library where I received my Masters in Education, now 10 yrs ago.My son needs a book for a class that is here. So got an alumni library card📚. Nice & quiet; about 30 minute drive. He is lost in stacks so I will read & enjoy coffee. #Libraries #MrBook #LitsyLibraries. Bonus: coffee bookmark at the desk. 📚☕️

slategreyskies I love that bookmark! Enjoy your quiet time. :) 3y
kspenmoll @slategreyskies It was just what I needed; felt replenished😍 3y

An intriguing premise of a missing passenger who apparently was never on board. I was enthralled by this book from page one. The mysterious passenger angle had me working on many implausible theories but the reality was so much better.

Sue Nice view!! 3y
scripturient I'm literally waiting right now for this to be delivered. Just please tell me that what you said about her not being on board is NOT the solution. *afraid of spoilers* 3y
MrBook Nice pic! 3y
Jhullie #scripturient don't worry, no spoilers, I just meant that's what the blurb said. #MrBook thank you. I went on a cruise in April, a very relaxing place to read. 3y
scripturient @Jhullie Ah, now I'm relieved. And after all that would have been such a lame ending. 😂😂 3y
