#MOvember #Frozen lots of freezing weather in Swedish crime writer, Henning Mankells books. I think I‘ll revisit one for #readingeurope @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB looking forward to seeing the info on this challenge👍🏻. I‘m thinking of doing 2 book challenges this year Cindy 🥳📚( definitely going to need that Litsy diary ...

Cinfhen I‘m with you!!!! 1mo
JennyM Brrr...I‘m cold just looking at those covers ❄️ (edited) 1mo

Cathythoughts @JennyM freezing 🥶💙 1mo
Cathythoughts @squirrelbrain Me too Helen ! Exciting 📚🥰.... this will be a fun year 1mo
Cathythoughts @squirrelbrain I wonder if a book fits both challenge prompts can you use it for both 🤔or is that cheating ... 1mo
squirrelbrain No that‘s not cheating @cathythoughts - lots of people do that. I‘ve already started picking out some books for next year and some of them double up...it‘s the best way! 1mo
Cathythoughts @squirrelbrain ok good to know .... my poor brain will be addled 🥴😆 1mo
batsy #readingeurope sounds good and #booked2020 too... I'm contemplating 🤩 1mo
Cathythoughts @batsy oh brilliant Suba !! I hope you do these too .... 👍🏻❤️ 1mo
BarbaraBB We just posted the announcement. So happy we‘re going to read Europe together next year! I hope you‘ll join too @batsy 🙏 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm I am tempted #readingeurope but am afraid I might be signing up for too many challenges 🤔 1mo
Cathythoughts @batsy @erzascarletbookgasm @BarbaraBB I just dived in 👍🏻signed up & all. 🥳 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm 👏 so exciting Cathy! I took a peep at the sign up form. Most likely I won‘t join because I would have difficulty accessing books for some countries. 😔 1mo
Cathythoughts @erzascarletbookgasm I‘m aiming to complete #Booked2020 ... I‘m aiming to do my best with the #readingeurope ..... I can help you Jessie , if you want to do it, I could send you books ... I‘d be delighted to ! 1mo
Crazeedi How do you keep things organized if your signed up for different challenges? I just seem to get confused and then give up. Ims doing #booked2020 (I think I signed up for it?) Oh my how to keep track!!!! 1mo
Cathythoughts @Crazeedi I‘m doing #booked2020 👍🏻 & I‘m going to make an attempt at #readingeurope 🤞🏻. And that‘s it ... and I know I‘ll get confused 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I‘ll give it a go 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm That‘s so sweet of you Cathy, but that‘s too much! I can‘t have you do that, the postage costs will kill you! 😅But thank you, my friend. 😘 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm How are you planning to read books from all over Europe @batsy if you‘re doing the challenge at all? 1mo
batsy @erzascarletbookgasm I'll see if I can get them in print or Kindle, Jessie. I'm counting on having a few on my shelf from a previous #litsypassport challenge that never got off the ground. And if I can't access certain books, I'll just skip those countries. I'm planning a laid back challenge 😘 1mo
batsy @erzascarletbookgasm If you're doing the challenge and I have a book that you want to read, I can send it to you too, we can work out a schedule 🙂 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm @batsy That‘s a good idea, taking it as a laid back challenge. 👍❤️Hope you find some books from your previous challenge! 1mo
Cathythoughts @batsy @erzascarletbookgasm yes! ExActly , a laid back challenge! I have no problem sending on a few books if ye need them 👍🏻❤️ 1mo
batsy Thank you for offering Cathy, that's very kind of you ❤️❤️ I'm already doing "research" to see what books to use ... the best part ? 1mo
Cathythoughts @batsy 👍🏻❤️❤️ 1mo
erzascarletbookgasm @batsy Cathy thanks. I‘ll do some research too this weekend, will see if I have more books on Europe than I think I have. 👍 1mo

Bailedbailed

My final #litsypassport book of the year and I bailed. Written in first person with a narrator who rambles and is unclear. I read 50 pages and give up trying to see if an understandable chapter will appear.

(P.S. Bjork is quoted on the cover as saying this author “can best express the female psyche of now.” The narrator is so confusing and unstable, and I hope to hell she‘s wrong.)

I can‘t get into this after 100 pages and there‘s no way I‘ll make it to 445. I like the storyline in theory, but there‘s almost too much detail and it‘s slowing down the rhythm. Second #litsypassport fail for me.

I finished this amazing book during a #hurricaneparty with my daughter and her crew. (Pictured is grand-kitten Rick the Chick.) I really liked this Dutch novel and would never have known about it if not for #litsypassport!

LittleBug I‘m not even familiar with this book and I‘m Dutch🤣 1y
QuietlyLaura Rick the Chick! 😊 1y
Lcsmcat @LittleBug It was written in 1966, but not translated into English until 2006. 1y
LittleBug All the more reason I should have known it. 🙈 Sounds like something we would‘ve read in school... 1y

It‘s incredible to think she wrote this as barely a teen. I guess beautiful storytelling comes naturally when you have a literary father and a Puka-Pukan mother. “Goodnight, Mama! O. K., Mama!” #litsypassport #CookIslands

I grabbed this book for my #litsypassport July read, which featured Qatar. I had hoped for more cultural elements, but the book was too inside the author‘s head to get a solid feel for life there.

Ice on my bum knee, cat in my lap, and a new book to start. Perfect evening. #catsoflitsy #litsypassport

kspenmoll Sounds wonderful except that bum knee! 1y
Suzze Hope your knee improves! My knees always hurt, but you‘re right, a cat and a Book always help! 1y
Lcsmcat @kspenmoll @Suzze It‘s bothered me off and on since I did something stupid as a teenager some 40 years ago, so it‘ll be ok soon. 1y

Literary_Siren Hope your knee gets better soon! I read this book in elementary school. I might have to reread it to refresh my memory. 1y
CouronneDhiver Oh, the bum knee club. Yep. I hear ya! 1y
Lcsmcat @Literary_Siren Thanks! I‘m so much older than you that I was watching the news of this war while nursing my first child. I wonder what difference that makes in the way I read it. 1y
Lcsmcat @CouronneDhiver It‘s a large club. 😀 1y

Finally finished this atmospheric tale set in the dark #woods the day I returned home. Slow pace leads to a suspenseful climax. #CoolBooks #overdrive #librarybooks
A tale of surviving one's dark past, surviving grief and making a life in the deep forest. When the forest consumes family, the wild boy has to decide - keep his promise or leave the world of aspen, birch and nettles?

Cinfhen Congrats on all the boxes completed ✅ 2y
BookishMe @Cinfhen ermmm, Actually this is my first prompt completed for this quarter. So much to catch up with! 🙄😌😓 2y
Cinfhen No, I meant this book filled a lot of prompts!!! No worries for #booked2018 😘I bet you read books that might work without even realizing 😉 2y

BookishMe @Cinfhen oh thanks! I had no clue this fit more than one prompt. Actually this wasn't even my choice for the environment until I read further into the story. While it is efficient to read a book for multiple prompts, I prefer the slow way of one book for each prompt - my goal is to read as many as possible ;D 2y
Linsy Sounds intriguing! 🌲 2y
BookishMe @Linsy it certainly is! The forest has never been so menacing yet nurturing 2y

I‘ve picked some difficult books for #litsypassport, but this one might make me tear up.
