September was a pretty good reading month. Four audiobooks, two ebooks (one of them was The Brothers Karamazov) eight print books. There were some weaker books, but there were some really good ones, including the tagged book and The Enormous Room. #septemberstats #readingresolutions @Jess7

I finished this amazing book during a #hurricaneparty with my daughter and her crew. (Pictured is grand-kitten Rick the Chick.) I really liked this Dutch novel and would never have known about it if not for #litsypassport!

LittleBug I‘m not even familiar with this book and I‘m Dutch🤣 6y
Lreads Rick the Chick! 😊 6y
Lcsmcat @LittleBug It was written in 1966, but not translated into English until 2006. 6y
LittleBug All the more reason I should have known it. 🙈 Sounds like something we would‘ve read in school... 6y

I haven‘t posted a lot about this book, but I‘m loving it. The sense of humor is right up my alley, and I feel so much for the MC. You know he‘s going to fail, and yet you‘re rooting for him anyway. And then there are these philosophical digressions 👆🏻!

“It‘s the best they can hope for, and even then all they get to do is perform music they didn‘t compose themselves.”
Spoken like a true disgruntled musician! I wonder if Herman‘s played. . .

I don't read a lot of Dutch literature - very unpatriotic of me - but this one I highly recommend. I don't think I've never been more uncomfortable about mosquitos and the vast Norwegian landscape.
