This was an amazing night! I was front row center for these four happily married authors spilling the tea on marriage in support of Ellis‘ new book. Perfect blend of heart and hilarity. If you have the opportunity to see an event at Parnassus, go! This is my third, and they‘ve all been amazing. Helen is a lovely person, and it was so nice to meet her!

Beautiful World, Where Are You: A Novel | Sally Rooney

Two non-spoilerish thoughts so far:

1. I want to put on my HIV educator hat and give all of these characters a safe sex talk.

2. All this talk of travelling to Rome, London, Paris, etc is frustrating, as we‘ve tried multiple times since 2019 to plan both a European and Middle East trip and Covid keeps interfering. #jealous

I loved the premise of a stay at home mom who hates being at home and despises the perfect moms in the park who seem completely happy with their lives. This mother was an artist, having a dream job, she was meant to DO things and now it‘s just her and her son. At home. She is bored and angry, and one day all that anger expresses itself in becoming Nightbitch.
So far so good. But in the end I lost it. Performance art and bunnies 🐰?!
