Ally and May‘s mother, Elizabeth isn‘t just an #IcePrincess, she‘s the Ice Queen! Never have I read about a mom who manipulates, mentally abuse and neglects her children in such a way, while consealing it all in a presentable and charitable front. I really detest her, but I guess that‘s what makes her a great literary character.
I have not read this book, but I did see the movie. One of the most beautiful scenes takes place in the boyhood home of Yuri Zhivago (played by Omar Sharif). It is covered in ice. Yuri has gone there to escape the Russian Revolution with his lover, Lara, played by the beautiful, Julie Christie. #iceprincess #nofemmeber
DAY 2: Miranda Priestly is a total #IcePrincess, or more accurately, an ice queen. ❄️👸🏼 Still, you can‘t help be warm up to her just a teeny bit. I like this one, but I think I prefer the movie.
Empress Alix of Hesse was the ultimate Ice Queen in my eyes, which would make her daughters the #iceprincess(es).
I had a fascination with the Romanovs as a young adult and read everything I could get my hands on. I think it was mostly due to the brutal way in which their lives ended, but also because there was a question for many years as to whether or not Anastasia survived, a possibility that I first became aware of on Unsolved Mysteries. ⬇️
Smilla is an idiosyncratic #IcePrincess in this cool, chilly thriller that evokes a great sense of place. I've held on to this unremarkable movie tie-in paperback since I first read it sometime in the late 90s. #NoFemmeber
