#Booked2020 #Winter #Finishinaday #ReadingEurope2020 #Italy

The author in the link below sings Inspector Salvo Montalbano‘s praises.(Well deserved!)The food, the commentary on Sicily‘s politics, mafia, crime, social justice, the sea, the heat, the landscape, city life, relationships, sardonic humor, the imaginative murder mysteries, shocking twist- this is book #2 for me & I have fallen in love.

Librarybelle Nice article! I bought the first in the series awhile ago...I‘m hoping to read it soon! 13h
Crazeedi Oh Katherine, my most favorite series in the whole world! I'm holding on to number 24 because I dont want it to end! I hear there are a couple more not translated, but Camilleri passed last year 💔 thanks for posting the link!! Enjoy this series, it is delightful, makes me laugh and love it. 12h
Crazeedi I listened on audio to the first 17, and the reader, Stephen Sartarelli , did Catarella so well I heard his voice as I read the rest!! 12h

Crazeedi I love how he loves his meals adelina prepares, I love "Montalbano 2" I love I love I love!! 12h
kspenmoll @Crazeedi The ending of this book got to me, “He swam and wept.” ❤️ Does reading in order matter? Got this from library & I know it‘s mid way thru series-wanted to read a second one so badly I did not care. (edited) 10h
Cinfhen So glad you found a new series you love! I will check it out / thanks for sharing 💕 9h
Crazeedi @kspenmoll well I'm a stickler for reading series in order, and as I said the library had the first 17 on audio so I did. But i think you'll be ok. The characters develop over the series. I love Montalbano, his heart, his love of food, his quirks. I have the last 7, but I will eventually but the ones I listened to. Just enjoy because they are all magnificent 1h

Lots of families have mysteries that get swept under the rug and never discussed. Not all families have a son who wants to pull that mystery out, dust it off, and solve it. All while recording the relevant conversations. That's My Lost Family in a nutshell. It's short, sweet (but not saccharine), and worth listening to.

If you like true-life family relationships, dysfunction, and even genealogy, give this short audio a try.

It was a blustery, snowy day today, which turned out perfectly to read my #finishinaday pick for #booked2020. It was a beautiful, slightly melancholy read. I think it will sit with me for a while.

The snow is coming down! So I‘m #audiopuzzling while I listen to an Audible Original called My Lost Family. I tagged another of the author‘s books b/c the AO story isn‘t in the database. #booked2020 #finishinaday

Cinfhen I listened to the audio / it was ok. Stay warm & safe indoors 🥰 2d
Cathythoughts The puzzle is really coming along 👍🏻❤️ 2d
BarbaraTheBibliophage @cathythoughts Thanks! It‘s just a small one. I‘ll start a bigger one tomorrow. But I had to give myself a chance to get back in the zone! Haven‘t done puzzles since last winter. 2d

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen I liked it, but it was so short. I can‘t imagine going through what their family experienced. 2d
maleahrae I love #audiopuzzling!! ❤❤ 2d
BarbaraTheBibliophage @maleahrae Me as well! I started a huge one after I did this little puzzle. 2d

This book is a delight. Every page is beautiful, with a kind or encouraging thought. I‘ll probably have to buy this one.... and then also give several as gifts. #booked2020 #finishinaday

This was my #finishinaday pick for #booked2020. I haven‘t seen the movie yet, because I‘m a read the book first kind of person. The book was definitely gritty. Ree Dolly‘s world is harsh, dirty, and unforgiving. I have conflicting opinions on this one. I thought some of the details were gratuitously gritty, but what do I know? I‘m not from Ree‘s world.

readordierachel The movie is excellent. They did a good job. 3d
BridgetteM @readordierachel I have been wanting to watch it for a long time. Now that I‘ve read the book, I can finally allow myself to watch it, LOL. 3d
4thhouseontheleft Great review! I haven‘t watched the movie either, one on my long list of book-to-movie reads I haven‘t gotten to. 2d
Cinfhen Hope you enjoy the movie but the #BookIsAlwayBetter 🥰 2d

The first in a trilogy of memoirs, this short book is beautifully written - the author was a poet. She suffered with addiction and depression in later life and you can start to feel this in her difficult childhood.

And Minette, you must have known I like to match my bookmarks to my books - your lovely pink note arrived just in time to bookmark this book! 😘 @gradcat

gradcat @squirrelbrain I didn‘t know, but I‘m only too happy to be of service! 😂 Thank you very much for letting me know that you received it...the mail around here has been a bit hinky, to say the least...so I‘m relieved to know that it found it‘s way to your door. 😉 2d
squirrelbrain @BarbaraBB thank you for asking - we‘re all a bit up and down but coping OK. ❤️ 2d
squirrelbrain @batsy - I definitely recommend it, based on the first one. They have the others in my library so I‘ll give those a go too. 2d

Cathythoughts Only the one I got is 241 pages 😬... I‘ll try & put a long day aside 👍🏻❤️ 3d
Lindy @Cathythoughts The audiobook edition I‘m listening to is only about 4 hours long. Perhaps there‘s a lot of white space in those 241 pages. 🧐 3d
Lindy @hermyknee @Cathythoughts Lots of good reminders in this charming book. 😊 3d
