So, I‘m counting this as my #finishinaday because I read the “box set” in a day. It has really good pacing, some scary parts, and a little reminiscent of “The Walking Dead.” Would definitely recommend to a teenage reader. #booked2020 @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen

4thhouseontheleft A whole box set in a day, great job! 🥳 5h

Book 2 of #newyearwhodis - Gina Royal‘s life is turned upside down when it‘s uncovered that her husband is a serial killer. The public assumes she is guilty too. She and her two children go into hiding from the stalkers and internet trolls. On identity number 8 and starting over in a small lake town, Gina, now Gwen, thinks maybe she can loosen up a bit, then a body is found floating in the lake.

This was great. I was totally sucked into it ⬇️

Bookzombie and invested in Gwen and her kids. Even though I had the killer figured out very early, I didn‘t see everything that was coming and I was propelled to keep reading. I have already put the second book on hold to read soon. #Booked2020 #FinishInADay

Finished January 19.

whippoorwill815 Yay! What I found the most memorable about this book and why it stuck with me was her all encompassing paranoia and it was portrayed so well it made ME paranoid just reading it! 15h
Cinfhen Love when a book totally sucks you in!!! Fantastic review 12h

Bookzombie @whippoorwill815 I agree! I started thinking about social media. I want to think this wouldn‘t happen, but I‘m not so sure. Society is so quick to make judgements. With the internet, it‘s so easy to put it out there and fire up others. Possibly motivating someone to really act out the threats. now
Bookzombie @Cinfhen Thanks! ☺️ now
Bookzombie @4thhouseontheleft Thank you! It was a Dollar Tree find and will probably be in pictures all year long. Lol. now

He definitely built the suspense well, the overall story just wasn‘t for me. But I completed another prompt! #finishinaday #booked2020 #mountTBR #read2020

Helene Hanff writes to Marks & Co. Booksellers to acquire a few books and winds up in a correspondence that spans year, and the letters exchanged make for a delightfully bookish collection. I loved it. Thanks for putting this on the list @Librarybelle because I probably never would have picked it up otherwise.

A strange story about a judge falling in love with the defendant (he killed his wife's lover). Layered story, but unfortunately very messy. Book isn‘t in the Litsy library and I couldn‘t find English translation. Author is Norajr Adaljan, title is Guilt and Love. This was my pick for #Armenia #ReadingEurope2020 I did #FinishInADay but unfortunately not because it was so good... #Booked2020

Cinfhen Ha!!! You‘re doing a great job with #ReadingEurope2020 and of course #Booked2020 ☺️ 5d
BarbaraBB Echoing @Cinfhen ! I have my Armenian book lined up as well! 5d
Librarybelle Sad it was not that great, but excellent to have read a book for Armenia! 5d

Wow!! Thanks, #NetGalley, for this exciting thriller! I not only am using this for #FinishInADay for #Booked2020 but I definitely read this in one breathless sitting! It hooked me in right away with a nightmare scene- being behind an unfamiliar car in a traffic jam- and seeing your daughter in the back- then calling home and having the police answer... Electrifying and tense, I loved this one even better than her debut novel! Truly excellent!

Cinfhen Ohhhhh!!! Sounds good!!!!!! I think I was offered this ARC 5d
TorieStorieS @Cinfhen I really enjoyed it!!! I hope you do too- it‘s out 1/28 in the US if that helps you track it down! ☺️ 5d
Cinfhen I‘m trying to cut back with my ARCs but I might need to make an exception 5d

The author in the link below sings Inspector Salvo Montalbano‘s praises.(Well deserved!)The food, the commentary on Sicily‘s politics, mafia, crime, social justice, the sea, the heat, the landscape, city life, relationships, sardonic humor, the imaginative murder mysteries, shocking twist- this is book #2 for me & I have fallen in love.

Librarybelle Nice article! I bought the first in the series awhile ago...I‘m hoping to read it soon! 6d
Crazeedi Oh Katherine, my most favorite series in the whole world! I'm holding on to number 24 because I dont want it to end! I hear there are a couple more not translated, but Camilleri passed last year 💔 thanks for posting the link!! Enjoy this series, it is delightful, makes me laugh and love it. 6d
Crazeedi I listened on audio to the first 17, and the reader, Stephen Sartarelli , did Catarella so well I heard his voice as I read the rest!! 6d

Crazeedi I love how he loves his meals adelina prepares, I love "Montalbano 2" I love I love I love!! 6d
kspenmoll @Crazeedi The ending of this book got to me, “He swam and wept.” ❤️ Does reading in order matter? Got this from library & I know it‘s mid way thru series-wanted to read a second one so badly I did not care. (edited) 6d
Cinfhen So glad you found a new series you love! I will check it out / thanks for sharing 💕 6d
Crazeedi @kspenmoll well I'm a stickler for reading series in order, and as I said the library had the first 17 on audio so I did. But i think you'll be ok. The characters develop over the series. I love Montalbano, his heart, his love of food, his quirks. I have the last 7, but I will eventually but the ones I listened to. Just enjoy because they are all magnificent 5d

Lots of families have mysteries that get swept under the rug and never discussed. Not all families have a son who wants to pull that mystery out, dust it off, and solve it. All while recording the relevant conversations. That's My Lost Family in a nutshell. It's short, sweet (but not saccharine), and worth listening to.

If you like true-life family relationships, dysfunction, and even genealogy, give this short audio a try.

It was a blustery, snowy day today, which turned out perfectly to read my #finishinaday pick for #booked2020. It was a beautiful, slightly melancholy read. I think it will sit with me for a while.
