As violent and silly as one might expect from Deadpool, with a bit more charm and slapstick thrown in thanks to the Hawkeyes, and of course some earnest self-flagellating because: superheroes. Short and sweet. Nominally takes place around Halloween if you're planning out seasonal reads. Side note: I really loved the art style of the front cover and collected issue covers, guess I'll be looking out for more drawn by James Harren.

Vansa Finally catching up.I thought this was an incredibly beautifully written chapter-captures an entire sweep of changing social mores, a thwarted romance, class prejudices in one short chapter. Something entire books don't do as well. I teared up at the end-I wish Matty's changing attitudes didn't have to come with such a cost to her. And still women soldier on. 12mo

I really enjoyed this Deadpool volume. I find his comics a bit hot or miss for me but this one had Squirrel Girl whom I just love plus it was a murder mystery. Well worth a read and this was my favourite illustration int he whole thing - need to keep an eye out for more by Jay Fosgitt!

2. My fave, from the comic book world, Deadpool. Other faves include Scarlet O‘Hara (Gone With the Wind), Geralt (The Witcher Saga series), Tyler Durden (Fight Club), & Snape (HP). And Brent Weeks‘s Night Angel series is on my TBR.

This one is a slog. I might eventually come back and finish it, but it's just not doing it for me right now. My disinterest is two-fold: 1. The things I like about Deadpool comics aren't translating well to prose and 2. This was written during a period of Deadpool that I didn't connect with. It's heavier on the brutality than the humor.

This review is for issue 2 of the current Deadpool run. The artwork is great and there was a nice little standoff in the middle between Deadpool and Captain America. I‘m looking forward to the rest of the series! 4⭐️
